The future's bright, the future's orange...Tangoman appreciation thread

Skin up Wesley Brown...

He's looked so good since he came back. Him, O'Shea, Silvestre, Rio, feck the future being bright, the future's......erm....fluroscent.

he's back to his best.. unlike before, he's more assured and goes into challenges with more authority.. which was the ONLY thing missing from his game... he's potentially our best defender IMO.

Good battling game from our Wes tonight.

The whole back four were up for it for the last eighty nine minutes.

Owen's gonna get a kicking on sunday...I can see it now.

Some of us have never doubted him. Christ only knows how good he'd be if he'd not had so many injuries.

I really liked the way Wes played today and alsoa gainst the barcodes where he benefited greatly from the experience of having Blanc beside him.

He and O'Shea still however are short on experience and looked a little suspect on Saturday when they played together and again at times today.

Eventually a back-four that sees Ferdinand and Brown centering Sivestre on one side and O'Shea on the other will be one of the best in the world IMO!

O'Shea is a helluva footballer. Talented both on and off the ball . . . As a full back he is quick to support the attack without taking too many chances. Strong in the air both defensively as well as in attack.

One more win in the Champions League and these young lads will get lots of time on the pitch without too much pressure on them and gain invaluable European experience.

Lookin' good for future, (whatever colour it is ;)

O'Shea is unfortunately not top quality. Exposed many times today on speed and positioning - essential in todays game - and replaced in the middke by Mickey after 20 minutes. From then on we looked more solid...believe it or not...Brown makes more mistakes, true, but he is a fantastic defender and WILL be Rio's partner in the long run. Give him time.
Brilliant game today BTW.

everybody will have their off performances at times. he's a kid, give him a break. for what he's doing he could easily be our best defender this season.

and once he moved to LB he didn't look half bad, was actually doing what giggs was lacking at times. it's good practice - we now have a temporary substitute for Silvestre in JOS. and i'd take that with full embrace.

yep. Agree. He actually looked better out there than in the middle.
But Wes has a lot greater potential. Wes + Rio can be formidable...they're still young, but still.

there are certainly a lot of possible combinations going on at the moment. somehow i'm not very worried about the defence this season, they've been great compared to last year. Whoever played they seemed to have done quite well.

so be it Wes + Rio, Rio + JOS, Rio + Blanc, Wes + JOS, Wes + Blanc, JOS + Blanc, i think we'll be fine..

throw may and Silvestre in there as well and we'll still probably be able to pull off a commendable performance.

The problem now is how do we sustain the scoring spree. we still have Butt, Keane, Becks coming back form injury.. so hopefully we can build on these performances and make it even better when they come back.

Are you on drugs, haven't watched him play, merely deluded or a scouser/ABU/WUM?
