I was yesterday reminded that we do in the Newbie Forum possess some Cafers who hold a knowledge of football that we in the main, do not necessarily or at least not in an abundance.

I started a thread about what is certainly to be a quite intense encounter between Egypt and Algeria this weekend and have been offered some contributions from the members in the other place.

I was wondering if it would be possible to sort of...half promote those people who have a niche to their name, with permission to access the Football Forum but not the rest initially? For that is where such input would be most in demand i should think, you know, foreign based supporters and the like. The primary calling being Internationals and European and other continental club competition.

As the title says, the Football Forum would act as an Inn along the road to full promotion so to speak, there would still need to be filtering if that is the way to describe it however you'd be looking out for these characteristics in particular.

You're telling em that you can't give a member permission to access only the Newbie General and the Football Forum proper for example? If i remember back to my days when i used to moderate a VB myself i am suer that with the right tweaking, it would be quite doable.

Though perhaps my memory is playing trick on me, it has been a 18 months-2 years.

I considered that, but then i thought that there might be people who'd be in a position to contribute on club matters too. However yes, also an option.

Its not going to happen. Newbs is there for a reason. People are properly checked out before promotion of any sort
