What was it?

Mine was Guns'N'Roses - Use your Illusion II

Well at least officially. Got tired of my parents' collection of music and having to dig up their LP's for their good ones. Asked for 2 weeks of allowance and went shopping. At the time all the talk was about Michael Jackson at school and I found "Dangerous" and it's flashy cover. Bought it and was almost running home to hear it.

A minute into the first track I was like...."what have I done?!?!?" I was alone at our house and even blushed of embarassement. Took the cd and went back to the store and this time I was literally running. Afraid that I might run into some neighbours or friends. Asked the clerk whether I could return it and get another one.

Having heard some Guns'n'Roses at one of my friends I instantly decided to get Use your Illusion. And fortunately so. One of my favourite albums to this day still :)

Funny you say that 'cause that was the first album I ever bought! Use to watch his videos on TV all the time and my mum gave me money to go buy it.

Still love it to this day. What's wrong with Jam? :smirk: Great track.

Wow. That's weird cos I think the first album i ever bought was either Dangerous (MJ) or Crossroads (Bon Jovi).

First single I bought was Jean Genie by Bowie. I can't remember what the first album was but it would have been soon after. Possibly Slayed? by Slade which was late 72 when I was 8.

The first album I ever bought was Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.

To this day, that's far and way the coolest thing I can say about myself. At least until Dungeons and Dragons catches on in popularity again, that is.

Can't even remember. Think it might have been Dead Kennedys

Brand New - Deja Entendu. Awesome album. I've never really bought albums.

 Fair enough. Two of my best friends we're a couple years older than me. They had their own band and we we're all into Beatles at the time. Just couldn't see where I would fit in with them if I really bought Dangerous

A colleauge of mine was a teenager when they came. They we're in love with Boy George: "Wow! Did you see that girl...Boy George last night?"
:lol::lol:

at least I knew it was a dude. Poison on the other hand, had me going for quite a while...and understandably so:

My first album was bought for me - Divine Madness by Madness. fecking loved it.

First album that I bought for myself was Be Here Now by Oasis. Or possibly WTSMG...I can't remember which order I bought them in.

i have no idea, probably some crap compilation tape like Smash Hits 93 or something,, actually it may have been Michael Jackson's Bad, not sure if i actually bought that or it was bought for me.

i think the first single i bought myself was Boom shake the room by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.
