The more embarrasing the better.

Five Star - Between The Lines

Think I was about 9/10 at the time :nervous:

Culture Club's shocking, Duran I still kinda like some of it.

Yep, agree with the Duran Duran, it's ok...as for CC well, let's just say I really don't think I knew what gay was at that time.

I'm still a bit dense, me.

If we include singles (45's in my day) then it might actually be Toto - Africa...or maybe Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson - Say, say, say.

Anyway, I still win for most embarassing selections.

Anyone in their 30's would quietly admit to all that. The curse of being a teen in the 80s.

I had the Cars and Prefab Sprout shortly after as well.

Then it was Thriller and Bad.

Bad - Michael Jackson.

First single - Fame by Irene Cara back in 1982.

Me too, great album only one ever to have five songs ever chart number 1 in America: "Bad" "The Way You Make Me Feel" "Dirty Diana" "Man in the Mirror" and "I Just Cant Stop Loving You". I also was a huge fan of "Smooth Criminal" and "Leave Me Alone". A lot of people forget what a musical genius this man was. "Liberian Girl was classic too

Def Leppard - Hysteria :nervous:

That was a great album, Pyromania was better though and still sounds good now.

I was a massive Lep fan when I was younger, saw them at the Sheffield Arena, that was my first proper gig.

Bought my first two albums on the same day. Two classic albums.

Blondie - Parallel Lines (Hanging on the Telephone = great track)
The Police - Regatta De Blanc (their best album, recorded before Sting crawled up his own arse).

not sure what the first album i bought was, probably something like Smash Hits 92 or something crap like that.

first tape i ever owned was a Thunderbirds audio tape someone gave me once when i went to work with my dad (he was a trucker so i got to go to tons of places all over britain during the holidays)

Queen Live Killers. double album, iirc on vinyl.

or was it another Queen album, the one with the pull out of all the naked girls on bicycles?

in either case I got the tape of the other one, not the record, so no pull out and no pull either ;)

Footloose and fancy free, Rod Stewart

Never mind the Bollocks.

Within 2 days of eachother

Holy feck...age much?

;)

you don't remember Queen or is it the vinyl? ;)

funny thing is that I had no idea that Freddie Mercury was a bender. I had never seen any interviews of him but once I did, years later, the penny dropped. he was a total mincing queen. great band all the same though.

btw: "tie your mother down" - could never figure what that meant.

Dangerous - Michael Jackson

I knew the lyrics of Heal the World a few hours later. And I still remember them.

Heal the worrrlldd....

I think it was Sladest by Slade although I had quite a few singles by then.

Gene Genie by Bowie was the first.

Mine was either a K-tel album with such delights as Joe Cocker ,Sweet ,Donny Osmond,Fredrick Knight ,The Staple Singers....or it could have been "Ride a White Swan" by T-Rex..........

Love them both still!

It meant he wanted to have sex with his bird (?) so he wanted to get everyone out of the house.........

"Get your party gown and get your pigtail down
And get your heart beatin' baby
Got my timin' right I got my act all tight
It's gotta be tonight, my little school babe

Your Momma says you dont
And your daddy says you won't
And I'm burnin' up inside
Ain't no way I'm gonna lose out this time

Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Lock your daddy outdoors
I don't need him nosin' around
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Give me all your love tonight"

I swopped the "naked girls poster" for a United FA Cup Programme.
