Have many of you saw it yet? I don't understand all the hype and praise it's been getting. It's got 90% rating of Rotten tomatoes! I saw it last night thought it was okay but nothing special, a simple 7/10. Bale is excellent in it though and it hurts me to say that since I hate Christian Bale more than hangovers.
 
I enjoyed it. Probably because I wasn't expecting much to begin with. Yes Bale was brilliant and will deserve his Oscar.
 
I might watch it tonight. Mickey Ward is a turd, for the record.
 
Because he lost to Zab Turdah, and Arturdhole Gatti. Twice.
 
In all seriousness, the Gatti trilogy is in the movie, right?

Nope it ends with him beating Shea Neary. I had read Micky Ward's wikipedia page before watching the film and expected to see the fights against Gatti which sounded class so I was even more disappointed when they weren't in it.

Oh. Well, feck that. Maybe I won't bother. Seems odd that they would omit what he is best known for.

It just does the whole troubled underdog with potential gets beat then has to fight his way back etc etc You should watch it though since you're interested in boxing and Bale really does put in an excellent performance. Some of the fight scenes seemed a bit off to me as well but then I was watching it in terrible quality because the "cinema" wasn't that good.
 
Those Gatti fights are well worth downloading if you can find them. One of them (i think it was the second fight) i would say is one of the best fights of all time

Yep, they're amazing fights. I think it was round 3 of the second fight that's literally like something out of a Rocky movie. Incredible.

Also film was great, despite some 'Hollywooding' of the historical facts.

His mum is a right character.
 
Round 9 of Ward vs Gatti 1 is one of the best I have ever seen, its not a match between two fantastic technicians or boxers, its just all out war with neither giving in.

I thought the film was great, avoiding the Gatti trilogy was done because obviously it was about Wards battle to the title and his brothers fight to kick the habit.
