does anyone know anything about the fella in the North Stand bottom tier who raises that greek flag everytime the play comes anywhere near him?

i am dieing to know why he does it?

for some reason it really bugs me. what about the people behind him and next to him. does it not drive them insane that anytime the ball comes anywhere near them they've got some half-wit lifting the same flag up match after match season after season.

anyone know anything? i've been dieing to know what he is up to for ages...

Probably stuck at Old Trafford from the England - Greece game... ;)

Yeah I noticed him about three or four seasons ago...Ive asked loadsa people about him, but no one seems to know anything.

Why's this geezer a feckwit eh? Just cos he raises a Greek flag? So what? He's been there for ages. Leave him alone you racist Spunk monkeys.

nothing to do with racism or it being a greek flag at all. if it was any sort of flag (other than a United one obviously) it would bug me equally.

i just find it really really odd. i have noticed he (or she) does it every time the ball goes near his area. they do it every single game so it must be a season ticket holder and it must be well annoying to the people who sit near him. its almost like they are not concrentrating on the game, just waiting for the next opportunity to raise their little flag!

just wondered if there was a story or explanation behind it. thats all.

ps - what is a spunk monkey? i presume i am supposed to take that as an insult. grow up eh? it was a genuine question, i don't take kindly to juvenile abuse.

He is the official souvlaki/kebab vendor at the stadium.

People who sit near him get a discount, hence they don't complain. His name is Jorgos Lefterakivropoulos.

Glad we sorted it out.

Chris, scour the other forums and have a look around. You may understand the "juvenile abuse" then. If not, you'll just have to take it on the chin.

In which case see the geezer in the upper tier in the main stand who has a Turkish flag embroided into the sleeve of his jacket and he may sort you out with a doner. Lucky you.

I don't quite know the feckwit with the Turkish flag embroided into the sleeve of his jacket. Does anyone?

Time for a new topic methinks...

I know why he does it cos someone wrote into soccer am once asking the same question you did...

they got hold of the guy and they spoke to him on the phone on the show to explain why

hes not greek and has no greek relitives i think

he went over there once and i think they gave him a greece flag and he said hed pull it up and show it every time the play was in his area of the pitch just to say hi to them...

Thats alot of effort to go to get a free flag.

Wish though that there were more united flags, and scarves waved at games, it adds to the atmosphere. With 67,000 fans it should be an intimidating arena, yet its the reverse.

i think he does that to get attention! so that we notice him. and talk abt him here

i reckon we should petition the club to let him on the pitch at half-time one day and shake his flag around. maybe once he's got that done it'll get the whole thing out of his system...

did he wave his flag in the games against Olympiakos and Panathinaikos as well?
In case he did, we are talking about one fecking nutcase of a Zorba
:)
