the da vinci code

I think that was the general consensus to everyone who read the book and saw the film. Apparently if you haven't read the book, then the movie was good.

How strange how opinions differ, I thought the book was shite, deteriorated after the first 100 pages but the film was surprisingly good.

The book was a reasonable trash thriller but I have avoided the film.

brilliant book, terrible movie. i didn't even bother watching it till the end.

and a third Robert Langdon book is coming out this year, The Solomon Key

do you know when exactly?

I thought the movie was rubbish and the book was OK.

hanks is shit...

Should be shot for that awful mullet alone........

I liked the book, movie was ok, bit of a disappointment.

However, I would smash the bird in it.

I've read all the Dan Brown books, They're very derivative and I can understand why there is such a broad spread of reactions in the thread. Good beach holiday fodder, though and I'll probably read Angels and Demons again (by far the best, hope they make a better film version than Da Vinci Code), when I'm on holiday week after next.

Angels and Demons is brilliant. Da Vinci Code is average. The rest are cringeworthy

I'm assuming you read Angels & Demons before Da Vinci Code like I did. Because the Da Vinci Code seemed more or less like a xerox copy of Angels & Demons with different character names and places.

Why don't you read another book? May I recommend something by John Case....

He knelt on the floor to examine the ancient symbols of Potomac."Dear Lord", thought he, "The world will end if I don't run with the little pyramid and solve the multiple riddles, including why I have to solve it in the first place!".He glanced upon Donna, took in her regal, noble features and thought how her life had been one sad story.Little did he know, of the secrets she had hidden from him!

feck off.

What writing doesn't look shit when taken out of context?.....;)......

No. Read the Da Vinci Code first. Then A&D and then the remaining two

Brilliant is a bit OTT. His best maybe.

Digital Fortress was so bad that it was almost funny.

Almost.

Yes, well, it was good. Digital Fortress is the most humongous pile of rubbish I've read

It was so utterly pointless

I wasn't interested in how it turned out, or what would happen next, as after a certain time, I failed to think of a reason why I would give a shit. It just boiled down to a bunch of nutters running about after each other

That's how it was for me, I haven't read the book but have seen the film. I must say I enjoyed it.:D

same here, I haven't read it either, but I liked the movie. I think generally, people that have read the book think the movies shit but those who haven't like it. I guess once I read the book, I'll think the movie is shit too then.
