Not enough cricket talk on this site.

Let's start with Butcher, going home with 'a wrist injury' which mysteriously developed out of nowhere. I don't buy this. Our batting has a soft underbelly and I think Butcher's been dropped without losing face. David Lloyd hinted that Key would be retaining his place for the rest of the series whatever happened during the last test. I think we may have seen the last of Butch for England. I've never really rated him but he seems a nice guy and his average over recent years has been none too bad so thanks for everything Butch and particularly for letting Alec Stewart bone your sister.

The Rest of the World XI have thrashed an Asia XI in the Tsunami charity match. Typical Aussies. Ricky Ponting (115 off 102 balls) couldn't even hold back in a charity match.

Finally, what's up with Michael Vaughan? He's averaging 14 for the series.

PS I think Ashley Giles should be knighted. Certainly more deserving than Pinsent.

It depends how we play. If Vaughan hits the form he was in during the last ashes, and Flintoff starts scoring highly again, we will certainly give the aussi'e a fight. We have decent bowlers now, and our batsman are looking pretty strong too. This is a good team, thats stands a reasonable chance of winning the ashes

We're way off the pace. The Aussies are on another planet. If all our players are on form we can compete. But there's no way that can be sustained over a series.

Aussies are the only decent team in world cricket. The others are

this is our norwegian national cricket team

serious...

good thread this.. your right..not enough cricket here..

First of all.. the charity match was excellent..not the game itself..i couldnt give a feck about that.. but it raised 50 crores which is really amazing.. and hopefully the second one will be at eden gardens.. which along with the MCG is the home of cricket(not that trashy lords shite)..

As for the ashes IMO england are still way off the mark.. we went to australia and drew the series 1-1 and looked the more likely to win in the end.. just thought id bring that up.. nah but england still dont have enough about them.. i know theyv been really good in the last year.. but they really havent been tested.. they havent beaten teams like australia or us..
Whereas in our run we beat england at home, drew with england away, australia away and beat pakistan away..

Still what id really like to see right now would be an england-india series.. IMO these two are the main challengers to australias throne..although some way off... still it would probabily be the most competitive series.. australia will prove a big test for this english team... and india still have to find the form and belief they have during mid 2004..and will take a few more months.

I crore= 10 million

Was that in rupees ? in which case an english pound equals approximately 81.5 rupees.

I think besides a few great players scattered in various teams the quality levels have really dropped. I am dreading the day when Sachin retires.

Anyone following the VB series here in australia. I'm a huge cricket fan.

Aussies going along nicely in the second final...1/88 after 17 overs

We got like 239 again. Pakistan have a chance once again to win the match. Australians total is average.

 at Razaaq's beamer at brett lee!

CMON AUSSIE'S!!

Both teams can play brilliant cricket when on form. But india look the better on paper. Dravid, Sehwag, sachin, v.v.s...

Ahktar might cause you a few problems though...

Akhtar is injured :D

3 tests , 5 one- dayers.
You can never tell in India- Pak series , when does the ashes start Btw

The series will be more about public relations, than cricket.

Errmm I am pretty sure you know what wankfest mean ...

All the politicians will take advantage of this occasion and act as if India and Pak are the best friends in the whole wide world. Infact no concrete efforts are made to solve the problem in hand, one day India and Pak announce some new treat, next Mushraff comes out and says something stupid and its back to square one.
Feck me, India still hasnt gotten Pakistan to close down those militant outfits, is there real a point in persuing these superficial peace gestures?

The sad thing is they will be believed as well.......

Anyway back to cricket, India are far too strong for Pakistan, batting has been great for a while now, hope Sachin is fully fit and the bowling department especially the fast bowling seems to be great at this moment in time

Feckin nice whether outside.

I smell the sound of leather against willow coming up… errrr….

1-1 in the tests.
Threw it away with an appaulling display from our veterans.
All sehwags work ruined by the dismal show by ganguly and co. The real reason for the loss was the negativity. They all suddenly played as if the pitch had suddenly become impossible during the lunch break.

Anyways on to the onedays..

1-0 :D

Gangulys last chance, one dayers. Me thinks India should slowly start blooding in youngters before the next World cup.

I think this team will have another go in 2007 for WC, then it might it for like of Sachin, dravid and kumble( ganguly if he is still in the team by then).
May be another year or two after that but i don see them playing another WC

team will pretty much stay the same.. wev found a very good talent in dhoni. But otherwise kumble might just make it.. doubt hel get a place though.. It will probabily be the last world cup for sachind, saura, rahul etc.. hopefully a few more quality bowlers can come through

BTW why the feck is pathan not in the team??

Indians bleating about their one day hopes..

It's not real cricket you know, the rest of the world don't give a feck ;)

Except for the Kiwis, but that's only coz they're rubbish at the real stuff.
