Is it cool to like The Cranberries? I'm thinking probably not but anyway. Apparently they will be releasing their new album, Roses, their first in 10 years, on Valentine's Day next year and this is supposedly the first single from it:

It's a bit shit I guess, but I'll persevere.

So do you like them? Does anyone care? Do you see what I did there?

And for old times sake:

I smell another failed Entertainment thread on the horizon.

Cold Zebra agrees. They match all his criteria.

Irish - tick
Average - tick

Aldi do a cracking cranberry and white chocolate cookies 10 pack for 99p

I think this is officially my most successful entertainment thread. A celebration is in order!

This is another new one. It has a fiddle in it and some doo doo doos at the start. What more could you want?

Randall likes The Cranberries. Why am I not surprised?

You should've seen my face as I typed that. It was all sneery.

Zombie makes me want to kill things.

utterly shite song and just fecking wrong.

They were one of those big selling phenomenons that just left me confused and angry.

I was always amazed by their success. Who did she marry again?

According to wikipedia:
On 18 July 1994, O'Riordan married Don Burton, the former tour manager of Duran Duran.

Other Dolores O'Riordan facts include:
In 2006 O'Riordan was listed among the ten richest women in Ireland.[12]

She is also an admirer of the late Pope John Paul II. After meeting him inside Vatican City, O'Riordan remarked: "[He] was lovely, very saintly."

Their fans do get very touchy when you criticise the band.

I don't even pay attention to the Irish music scene any more- are Paddy Casey and all those drippy singer-songwriters still popular?

No, which is why I am unemployed.

I have a good Frames story that I will save for when we open the good whiskey.

What's the deal with the Frames? A boy in my class at school used to go on about them, I never listened to them cos he was a bit of a gimp.

I had that album with Zombies & Linger on it back in the day. Was alright. But then I also had a Cheryl Crow album around that time.

In a wicked twist, for me especially, it turns out that although in many respects cnutish, he's not actually a cnut.

Stop right there Mockney. I won't have a bad word said about dear Sheryl. 1996 belonged to her.

I can only hope the Beautiful South thread I'm going to make next week will receive such attention.

Apparently so. After extensive research I've discovered that they released an album last year called 'Bang Goes the Knighthood'. This is the lead single from it which peaked at no.173 in the UK charts.
