The Contender

They should merge it with something like So You Think You Can Dance or Idol so that when someone gives an especially cack performance the boxer of the week beats the crap out of them. Indeed they could just let a bunch of boxers beat the living crap out of all the contestants and the judges and some random lardarses from The Biggest Loser. I'd pay to see that.
 
Yeah, followed the first season as well, the 2nd season didnt appeal to me as the 1st one did though. Wanted Manfredo to win as well but Mora was clearly the better fighter in their 1st fight. The 2nd fight though, clearly Manfredo should have won btu for some unknown reason, Mora did.
 
I love the 1st season too!

I actually like the series so much because of the insight into their lives. Mora was portrayed to be very filial and intelligent so I was quite happy he won.

Though I would be happy too if either Alfonso or Anthony 'The Good Dad' won.
 
I agree that the first season is the best so far but the last few seasons have been good. I think the show needs Sylvester Stallone back. I know he has been filming the new Rocky and the new Rambo the last couple of years so has not been able to do the contender. I hope he comes back for the next season.

anyway, I watched some of the 1st series and it was ok. you can't really say it's not falsified though. cmon Plech, it's all in the editing.
 
Was hoping Alonso would win the first series. Good show but needed more heel characters to keep it interesting.

a 'bad' guy basically. Most of the stories potrayed the fighters as family men who loved their kids and were trying to do it for the family etc. It needed more rogue/non-conventional fighters to spice things up.
 
ok. thanks.

it's true though. the bad guys would spice it up and possibly make it more interesting. people then can root for them or most would root against them. Rocky had that as a central part in some of those films.
