A year ago I thought Barca's stock was going south. They got dumped out of the UEFA cup and failed to mount a serious charge in La Liga. Then, they got rid Giardiola and gained Saviola, Anderrson & Rochemback and Overmars seems to have recovered from a loss of form. Kluivert and Rivaldo obviously don't need any introduction.

Riquelme is due to show up at the Nou Camp shortly (finally) and now just when Barca think they've got it good - Andres D'Allesandro has proclaimed that he wants to play for Barca.

This team will be deadly imo.

Barca is too inconsistent imo.
And a waste of human resources in Petit's opinion.

Jokes aside, Rivaldo might go at the end of the year. I don't rate Kluivert very much. And they still have to deal with RM in La Liga

I was talking to a Barca fan in the pub last night, and his opinion was that Barca are in bad form at the moment. He was bemoaning the lack of a distributor and the way Barca always play the ball laterally. Boring was one word he used as he was remembering the great team under Cryuff.

Then again, maybe it was the shock of loosing to Alaves at the weekend.

I think that they are a fantastic team. But being 8th in the league makes them look a bit out of form (even if they are only four points adrift of the leaders - Alaves)

Eeks...sounds familiar eh? I wonder which other team falls in that category at the moment.

they are buying the best young south american players... i agree that they will be a great side in a couple of years...

Well, so far they've bought Saviola and Rochemback (sp?). Riquelme deal is not through yet, and neither is D'Allessandro. I expect one of them to go play for Lazio. They have a great knck for South American players... Hell half the Argie NT either plays or have played recently for them: Crespo, Lopez, JSV, Almeyda, Simeone, Sensini...

Barca played out of their skin against us and have lost two league games since - I'd agree with Weast's Barca mate. Real have picked up their season though after struggling early on.

It's strange how revenge gives a team extra incentive....

I don't think any of those players have been at Barcalona. Not too many Argentine's have played at Barca except for Maradona, to name one.

Oooh, I've found a key on my keyboard, I thought it was very un-Catalan before, I'll re-do:

I think he means they've played for Lazio not Barça.

That's better :)

:(

I might as well get my post count up a bit while nobody is here :D

well, I've read his interview and he said he wants to play in Italy and for Lazio (because we have many argentinians).
