Will be against Depor. We haven't played any great teams so far this season, despite what the scousers and gooners might think.

Arsenal and Liverpool are shit in relation to the greats of Europe (which they just proved over the past week). Deportivo at Old Trafford is a match we must win, if we want to lift the European Cup on home ground.

I believe that we have the quality to beat Depor, but the players must stand up to be counted once again.

i haven't seen much of Deportivo this season at all..

have they been good? are they still what they were last year?

i somehow feel our first real challenge will be against Juve, and not Deportivo.

someone correct me if i have the wrong idea about this.

Deportivo are a good side, but they don't seem as strong as last season when we played them. Drew 1:1 with the bottom club last weekend, 9 points off the pace in Spain.

They've done well in the CL so far, with the two wins over Bayern being good results, but also lost 0-4 at home to Milan.

All and all, they are a big test, but not bigger than the last two league matches.

Deportivo have struck me as somewhat erratic this year. Their previous group stage was not totally convincing. They had to put up with a really strong AC Milan though and Lens proved quite a nut to crack too. But, I will still be wary of them. Their record in La Liga is almost the same as Real Madrid's. But, personally, I think Deportivo might be easier to handle than Juve.

Having said that, we have to take all games seriously and make sure we are working towards getting results and not taking anything for granted. Roll on you reds!

I was actually thinking about posting something like this before I came on because this game really worries me.

Weve come up with some huge performances in the last few weeks and im not sure the lads can maintain the same intensity for a midweek European clash.

IMO if our back four play as good as they have been we will be fine. We need to cut out Makaay as much as possible cos he is Depors shining light. Very underated IMO.

A win would be feckin awsome but part of me thinks aiming for a draw would be awsome to.

If we can come through playing Basel away , Geordies home , Liverpool away , Arsenal home and Depor home with 5 wins that would be feckin amazing !

CMON LADS !

what about the Burnley game? we already HAVE 5 wins on the trot. we should appreciate the Worthless cup now that SAF seems to be taking it seriously. so it's already been amazing if you consider 5 wins to be amazing :)
