The folks at NeilCurtis.com noticed something rather interesting about Steve Jobs' latest address last week before a packed crowd to announce the iPad: he and the other presenters used a lot of positive adjectives to describe the "incredible," "beautiful," and "amazing" product.
To illustrate that, the team at NeilCurtis.com edited together the descriptors presenters used during the press event. The video, which runs for about three minutes, "is the sum of the most important words" spoken at the event, a message reads before the clips start.
Although it might seem a little ridiculous when you first hear it (surely no one can use that many words of praise to describe a product, right?), the video's preparers claim that no scene in the video was repeated (it progresses in chronological order) and every word uttered in the clip was said at Apple's latest address, and was not taken from another event.

I quite honestly simply don't understand the point of an iPad....really, What is the point?

Don't get me wrong, I love my mac, but I've got it, i own it, it exists, so why would I need something else that's more or equally expensive, doesn't do 2/3rds of the stuff it does (and the generally most important stuff), that I can't take out with me for any considerable amount of time, but that I can work entirely by touching it, even though when I touch it it doesn't really do anything of any practical use to me?....Seriously, What is the point?

Totally agree, howeve I think if you look at the first generation iPhone and compare it to the latest 3GS; if the iPad follows the same revolution then in a few years it might actually become a useful piece of kit when they add all the things it should have had in the first place. Until such a time though - pointless.

I don't get it either. It makes no sense whatsoever.

I suppose it gives all the apple-haters a rare opportunity to feel completely vindicated, whilst frantically circulating a bunch of lame jokes created by the Microsoft marketing bods.

Apart from that, it does seem fairly pointless.

It is isn't it?...It's just a fat iPhone? There's literally no point in it at all.

It is just a huge phone, devoid of many phone features.

It is probably the most pointless thing I've ever seen.

would you not give it credit as an excellent e-reader?

Was curious as to the price of this excellent e-reader, £300 from Panamoz, and they also had this gem of a quote:

'You can even use your iPad as a beautiful digital photo frame while your....'

BUMP

I have an iPad. Had it for about 8 months, love it to bits.

If I am sat at home, wanting to go on the internet, I im on in seconds, no need for my laptop.

I subscribe to The Sun, and The Times apps, which bring you digital versions of the newspapers every day, I love it.

I subscribe to Sky Sports for £5 per month and get Sky Sports 1-4 + Sky Sports News

I regularly use the BBC iPlayer and Channel 4 On Demand

I do lots of work on there, with the Mac versions of Microsoft Office

I read a lot of magazines on there like FourFourTwo and Mens Health

Do you use it for porn though?

Good post Jonno, it is a handy piece of kit for sure. I am debating whether or not I want an ipad or a macbook.

No flash support, but some Apps can fix that for you.

And re Vuc, I'd say an iPad's good to have in addition to a regular computer, not as a replacement.
