The aggregate score against Bayern...

What score do we want? What happens if it's yet another 2-2 draw? I suppose we don't want a scoreless draw. This aggregate system confuses me. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

we want any win !
2-2 would mean extra time and then penalties
0-0 would see them trough

How difficult can it be?

2-2 = extra time
0-0 = Bayer to the final, because they've scored more away goals. Same with 1-1.
Any United win = United are through

It's simple really, and nothing to do with an away goal counts for two. All it is is when a two legged tie ends. The scores for each team for each leg are added together for a final score. If it is then a draw, whoever scored the most goals away from home wins. If they both scored the same number of goals away from home, it goes to extra time, and for this final year, a golden goal. After extra time it goes to penalties.

So, 1-0 would be enough as it would make the tie 3-2 for us.

I think we will need 2 away goals to go through 1 will not do. Uniteds defence will not be able to hold out and after all they scored four against Liverpool we couldnt even get one aginst the Pool

For everybody not informed of the intricacies of German culture, calling Bayer Leverkusen "Bayern" is like calling the Reds Liverpool :)

Bayern is an area in Germany (called "Baveria" in English). Bayer was chosen as their name as it happens to sound like their main sponsers - Beyer, the drug company.
