That blue jersey

Isn't that our 3rd choice kit? Have you guys noticed that we always win by wearing this jersey? I'm not at all superstitous or anything, but hell! lets wear it every week!

The first time we won Cl, it was in blue, wasn't it?

BTW I don't like them that much. The players probably don't eiter, except Veron who is always MOM in that jersey  might have something to do with Lazio's colors

Sunderland.

Seems to have become out 'Champions League' Kit.

I have the long-sleeved blue shirt. It's great. Gotta find a place that does the silver lettering for the back, though.

Oddly enough, I like the blue and silver shirt (especially the silver bit!) better than either the red or white, but I just can't accept us playing in blue! Our traditional colours are red, white and black and deviating from them doesn't feel right to me. It was very disconcerting to see the lads wearing blue at Old Trafford against Olympiakos. I kept wondering whether I had been transported accidently to Stamford Bridge or Goodison!

Still, so long as it sells in the megastore eh?! ;)

it could be that they wanna boost sales of the this colour at the stores..

but i've also noticed that in European games, it's never certain that home teams will be wearing their jerseys.. anyone noticed this?

i can't pinpoint games, but the two games played last night would be good example:

1. united wearing blue against Olympiakos
2. Juve wearing black and white at Newcastle..

anymore matches anyone can think of? Or anyone who knows why?

Well, I was under the impression that we wore the blue shirt in the home game against Olympiakos a few weeks ago because it was our official Champions League kit. Don't know if this is a fact though.

We wore all blue when we won our first European Cup against Benfica in 1968. But it felt strangely wrong then, and it certainly doesn't feel right now. White maybe, green and yellow halves by all means. But not blue.

we used the blue shirts at OT because the ref wasn't happy with us wearing red while Oly had black and red shirts.

i think in europe , its the home teams that change when their is a clash of colours.

Or the barcodes have just brought out this new strip and what to flog a few
;) ;)

The Newton Heath shirts were shit.

Dispite being Nike I like the blue shirts. They're nice and simple and they are obviously a nod of respect to the 68 team.

blue has always been our third kit...

i love it.. reminds me of 68.

its easily our best kit.. can;t stand the other two.. the red one inparticular is a joke.

I'm going to be different to most people and say that i quite like it, i wasn't a great fan of it but since i saw it close up i have to admit it has grown on me

I think it's because both of Juve's shirts would clash with the Barcode's home shirt.

The strip Newcastle played in last night was the CL strip - I think

Seems like the 3rd kit was wore more regularly than the white away kit.

hmm... interesting.. raises another question though.. why won't teams want to wear their normal home jerseys in Europe?

Isn't it a fact that you play much better in familiar territory, i.e. home stadium, your own teammates, and familiar looking jerseys so you can spot your teammates easier...

Someone please clarify this.. i don't get why it'll be better for teams to get a new jersey for home games in Europe.. wouldn't the players be more comfortable wearing their usual home kits while playing at home to get that familiarity going? doesn't it give some advantage? isn't home team advantage significant enough?

I mean.. i wouldn't be surprised if they newcastle players were to make some silly passes to the Juve player because they're wearing the black and white strip - and that is surely not good!

The white kit with blue shoulders 3 seasons ago was actually our training kit. We wore it so often cos it was lucky and also because the blue and maroon second strip looked shit.

I don't know if it's still the case, but if colours clashed in Scottish cup games, the senior side got to wear their home shirts.
