Tendayi Darikwa

What do we know about him? Midfielder (right midfielder according to Transfermarkt), 6'2", English nationality. Can he pass the ball?

Edit - looks like he can play on the wings or in central midfield.

I saw the story but have no clue who he is, any League 2 watchers kicking about? Wikipedia says he's 21, has played 43 games for Chesterfield and won Football League Young Player of the Month last December. That's the extent of my talent for research I'm afraid.

I remember seeing him on the Football League Show a few weeks back and he looked a monster; tall, powerful, pacy and skillful. Obviously watching him terrorise League Two defenders doesn't automatically make you United potential, but he looked a beast for the division that night.

I go and watch chesterfield pretty regularly
He is better than league two
He is not as good as zaha though he tracks back much better
A better move for him would be forrest ad he is from Nottingham would probably play most games... at united he would go in the reserves for 6 months before going on loan.
If united do buy him they would be better off leaving him at chezvegas for the rest of the season.
1.5 million is a good price for a player with his potential - especially as he seems very down to earth and is apparently an excellent trainer but he is almost 22 and not currently at a level to justify a place in a 25 man squad ahead of a valencia, nani, young or zaha

The little i've seen of him (football league show so highlights only) lead me to believe he would never be anywhere near skillful enough to come here and play on either wing even in our reserves. CM he might have a chance of graduating from the reserves to a bit part first team player.

He'll be 22 in December. Hardly a youngster. I can't see us actually being interested in him.

Unless Young is leaving next year. But no way I can see him in our first team even if I say we can't judge on whether or not he is good enough because he plays in league 2.

Or maybe it was just that Moyes is friends with the Fleetwood manager.

Imagine having the audacity to scout a player while already having other players. What an absolute cnut this Moyes guy is.

I understand your point but at the same time it does seem sort of strange that we have a younger player who won the player of the year award in a better league that can't get any game time here and yet we're looking at someone who's biggest accolade is player of the month one time.

I have absolutely nothing against the signing or scouting of this player obviously, but it is slightly strange.

There's nothing strange at all about a football manager scouting football players even though he already has other football players that play football on a football pitch. You know what would be strange? A football manager not scouting football players who play football on a football pitch.
