Hope its the same team that beat Birmingham (bar RVN coming back in) Though SAF could change it as he was going on about its a squad game & theres alot of games & we need to use the pool of players - could he change it?? i just hope he leaves the defence as it is! no blanc!!!

barthez
o'shea - ferdinand - brown - silvestre
beckham - veron - keane - scholes
rvn - forlan

rvn & ole are too similar,so forlan would be the best bet

Utd 1 - Sunderland 2

Law of averages as we haven't lost at home for a long time...

yup, id plump with that aswell, or he might rest Scholes and stick giggs back in there

If we create half as many chances as we dud against the brum, with ruud back in the team, we'll do them in, but like i say, with man utd you cant take things for granted

Hopefully Giggs will be "rested" again, it should do him some good, as it did for Beckham last year. TBH, I'd rather see a slightly out-of-place Scholes on the left doing something than Giggs doing feck all (as he was in his last few starts, goal aside).

I honestly think that an extended ride on the bench could help bring out the real Giggsy again.

Ruud is not expected to be fit on NYD. Ole looked pretty jaded and may be rested. My bet is same defence (with possibility of Gary in for O'Shea. Midfield of Becks, Seba, Keane and Giggs with Scholes and forlan up front.

A midfielf of 5 would be great with Scholes as a link man. Richardson to fill in for Giggs too maybe. Forlan upfront.

Giggs and OGS need breaks. The team:

Barthez
O'Shea Ferdinand Brown Silvestre
Beckham Keane Veron Richardson
Scholes
Forlan

I don't know if Scholes and Forlan would produce enough fire-power.

On a normally good day, they surely would. Forlan is reliable up front.

Moreover, we can surely rely on our midfield for goals too.

Just been reading teletext (granted not the most reliable source of information) They reckoned that Ruud isn't ready yet. But Gaz and Giggsy could be pushing for a recall at the expense of JOS and Diego.
Personally i wouldn't change the defence at all. I know it would be bringing Gaz back in, but the defence against Birmingham was good so why change it.
Diego's performances recently have really impressed me and it would be very harsh for him to lose his place, but it wouldn't suprise me.

My prefence would be:
Barthez
JOS - Rio - Wes - Mickey
Becks - Seba - Keano - Scholes
Diego - Ole

but more likely

Barthez
Gaz - Rio - Wes - Mickey
Becks - Seba - Keano - Giggsy
Scholes
Ole

I'll go 6-0.
Law of averages as we haven't hammered anyone for a long time.

I only believe when it suits me. At other times I'm on a roll. ;)
