IMO if we win lose or draw we'll finish 3rd so play the likes of Irwin, even let him captain the side because he deserves it, and I reckon this'll be a good side to play
Barthez
Irwin Blanc O'Shea PNev
Chadwick Keano Stewart Fortune
Solskjaer Forlan

Thats resting the likes of Scholes, Veron, Brown, Butt etc who are going to the world cup, it gives Blanc and Irwin a goodbye game and lets us show our support to Phil who missed out, gives Forlan a chance to score ala Cruyff 97, Keano should play because he's Keano and its our last home game this season, Solskjaer plays over Ruud because he derserves it and the likes of O'Shea, Stewart, Chadders and Fortune all get a game.
how great that would be eh :) ;)

I hope the players can say goodbye to the fans and thank them for their support by giving them the perfect send-off. In addition, let's hope the people lucky enough to go to Old Trafford will appreciate the effort the players have put in, and I'm sure they will. My team:

GK: Carroll

RB: Phil
LB: Irwin
CB: O'Shea
CB: Brown (Blanc to come on at half-time for either)

RM: Chadwick
LM: Giggs
CM: Keane
CM: Butt / Scholes

ST: Ole
ST: Ruud

Id defintley play Barthez, or if I was'nt then play Van Der Gouw

I contemplated playing Barthez, but to be honest I would only play him if he could go up for a few corners and give the crowd something to shout about (like when he side-stepped Shaun Goater !)
He would give the crowd something to laugh about after wednesday. But Carroll deserves a chance. He has made an encouraging to start to his career and he hasn't played a lot in 2002. Can't really see why you'd want Rai to play, unless of course he wanted to go out on a high - he has been a loyal servant to the club. In the end, i'm sure SAF will do what he thinks is right. :)

Good point, I completely forgot he was injured. No need for Scholes to rest, World Cup doesn't start till June for England, but if SAF really wants to give him a break, what about Veron ? If he is injured it will have to be Stewart, who looks a good player.
