Barthez

Phil Rio Blanc Silvestre

Beckham Veron Butt Giggs

Ole Ruud

Phil has played well recently, and should keep his place in the team for now. Blanc should feel better after being rested yesterday. Comments ?

Cant argue with the team you chose. I'd call this an important match, so no point in risking NevilleG, even more so given how his brother is playing.

What about O’Shea? If he’s healthy and not banned, I’d rather use him instead of Blanc. Or do you suppose O’Shea needs have a rest?

Anyone reckon Butty and Phil would do alright in midfield? I think Gary Nev looks okay to play on the right, though his mistake nearly resulted in a Spurs goal yesterday...

O'Shea or Blanc would do, I just think Blanc will be fresh and willing and ready to do the job. No use putting Gary back in at the deepend. Phil has earned his chance, and we shouldnt mess about with the team just to accomodate Gary.

Once upon a time Fergie put youngsters in because he had belief in them to do the job.

Blanc was caught lacking twice against macaibi, IMO he will get away with it in the premiership but not europe, lets stick with o'shea.

I would like to see forlan start as well because Ole has looked terrible so far this season, he looks like he has lost some confidence, I would prefer to give diego the start, no point bringing him on for 15mins at the end of a match, but bringing ole on at that time could be important.

what do you think?

I don't think Ole has been terrible. He hasn't had his usual ruthless streak, but his off the ball play has been better than Ruud's by a country mile.

I agree with Livvie.

Ruud's ahead of Ole in terms of goals simply because he takes the penalties!

Everything else, Ole's miles ahead!

Why not play 4-4-1-1 with Ole as lone striker to hold the line & perhaps bring on Ruud as sub in the 2nd half?

He scored twice in the FA Cup against Villa when he came on so maybe he too can be considered as a super-sub ? :p
