Taylor Booth

Never heard of him before but I've been following him for months, great player and exactly what we need.

Clever. At least EtH has one secured signing if the Glazers decide not to sell. They can’t say no to signing an American.

Come on Erik, phone this one in.

Edit: this chap is actually a decent player, maybe the younger midfielder we are rumoured to be eyeing. Versatile too, think he can play at RB as well.

With a name like that he surely sells
We can never have enough CM. Sign them all!

Before I clicked on this thread, I thought it was a new signing for the womens team :wenger:

Eredivisie watchers, how does he compare to Kokcu at Feyenoord? From the limited I've seen, Kokcu seems more impressive over all - more powerful, better passing range. Also captains Feyenoord. Better stats in the majority of cases as well.

Booth seems alright, but maybe lacking a bit of pace and power. His passing stats don't seem good either, very low accuracy, not that progressive; even though he's capable of the occasional good through ball.

Was at Bayern a few years ago

He only left Bayern for Utrecht last summer! He only made 1 cup appearance for them though.

Can he be that great already if they seemed fine to let him go and he featured so little? I'm aware big clubs occasionally release players a bit early, but still.

From a national team perspective, he was nowhere near the senior team as recent as this November WC but seems to be generating an increasing level of interest from the journalists who cover the US National team. Seems to be growing rapidly from game to game. Would still be shocked if he ever, let alone now, becomes Utd quality.

Whoscored sorta suggests he's already a decent #10 in the Eredivisie, but is he really gonna be better than Shoretire and Amad in that role? I guess we could always buy him, loan him back to Utrecht and they get some money and we probably recoup it even if he never quite becomes United quality.

Pretty impressive for one month, even in the Eredivisie where you expect attacking players to look good. Takes set pieces, stats say good at through balls and looks a decent ball carrier for a #10. Probably not enough goal threat to be United quality as a #10 but that could come in his mid-20s.

Is this guy actually any good? Anyone who’s watched him this season?

Only watched him for our national team but to answer:

Is he any good: Kind of
Is he good enough for United: Nope.

His background is a bit interesting. He was under contract at Bayern, and had a successful loan in Austria 3 years ago. He wouldn’t renew his contract with Bayern, and wasn’t quite good enough for them, so he spent the year with their second team until his contract ran out last year.

he had a bit of a slow start with Utrecht, then was very good, then fell off a bit. He just turned 22, and this was his first year in a top league.

I don’t think he’s ready to really help United, but he shouldn’t cost more than 6-8 million pounds, and wouldn’t be a bad option to have available for the league cup and fa cup.

Not exactly a replacement for Mount then in that permanent 8 position it sounds like....

ETH coached Bayern under 21 but I doubt they were there at the same time?
