Take your pick! United to hand new man list of THREE targets for each position

Oh dear. I'm really looking forward to some actual football on Saturday.

The journalism has gone from very good to incredibly poor in the space of 4 days.

It sounds good to me. Give the manager options and even a player isn't available then we have a backup, which is where we went wrong last summer. We could be in for a big summer lads! The summer of the transfer muppets!

Left back: Shaw, Coentrao, Baines

Centre half: Mangala, Garay, Jagielka

Central midfield: Kroos, Carvalho, Osman

Forward: Cavani, Costa, Anichebe

Dave prepared the list.

I mean, the club will obviously have identified more than one target in each position requiring strengthening. Nothing outlandish about that.

How is that? Scouts recommend players to the manager and not the other way round. :)
I was thinking that the manager/his team would recommend a selection of players that he would like to work with then the club does it's best to get those players although maybe the managerial position isn't as advanced as we think. Could be still up in the air.

The headline is actually really misleading. It only said that the new manager would have the option to sign Shaw, Kroos and Cavani, but not three players for each position as the headline suggests.

Forwards: Ronaldo, Messi, Heskey
Midfield: Thiago, Kroos, Sanchez
Defense: Not too sure...
GK: Give Dave £500k a week for 20 years.

So he'll be given a list of Shaw, Kroos, Cavani, three players everyone knows about and extensive scouting reports on then. If it's van Gaal I'm pretty sure I know what he'll do with the list.

My money is on the long awaited arrivals of Wesley Sneijder & Ezequiel Garay. We might even get that deal for Huntelaar done this year too, the heir to Ruud's throne.

That was the gist I got. I think they are just the deals that are the most advanced though. He will obviously be able to sign other players too.

Why some people are acting like this is a bad thing. It is basically what all the clubs do.

I still don't know if I should let my muppet feelings consume me. Van Gaal is very anti muppet and for all we know he may turn back that list and choose Varela, Keane, Pearson, Lingard, Powell and Wilson. Which to be fair, would be frakking awesome. You don't win anything with kids, eh.

Yeah, the article doesn't make clear sense, so, I will leave it to my imagination

Shaw
Garay
(I'd like another defender)
Kroos/Fabregas
Carvalho
Reus

GET IT DONE

In all seriousness, this summer is gonna kill me

Top talents on the list only need one or two from it at the moment(Shaw and Kroos). The latter dependant on if a midfield of Kroos and Carvalho/Carrick can form a balanced and efficient partnership. Hopefully, the omission of William Carvalho on that list means the deal is already in place and we will be getting him without the say of our new manager(going with the flow that this is actually credible information). I feel, he is one transfer that could really improve United. However, I starting to become skeptical about United interest in him as the days past me by...We still have Fellaini and our scout may think he is no better than him :|.

 This summer is going to be fecking ridiculous.

First time in a long time where I am absolutely convinced we'll make several major signings. I just hope all the big money buys are 26 or under, so we can get some really good years out them and give them a chance to develop as a collective. That said I'd make an exception for Ronaldo or Iniesta.

We desperately need some infusion of new blood but something makes me uneasy about spending shite loads of cash on a ton of players. It's not really our way. If we had recruited Thiago Alcantara in the summer (as was lined up) and signed a decent winger; and not had such a total balls up of a manager, then we could've been looking at a much more reasonable regeneration of the squad over the next couple of years. Now though we're desperate and we don't really have much choice but to spunk the cash city style.

I think it is true that Moyes and the scouting team prepared a list of targets, with several options in each position. This is the list we're presumably working off in our ongoing dealings. Then, when a new manager is selected, he has the chance to veto any of these deals we've lined up. All of this was reported by Ogden too so it's reliable.

It's not a case of us handing the list to the manager and telling him to pick though. The new guy still has full control, we're just doing as much work as we can now so we don't get a repeat of last summer.

"Don't take your pick! United to force new man to sign the exact players the scouts want him to, will be given no choice in the matter."

I believe Daehli had to be there.Playing in the Championship next season would be a waste of his talent.

Its going to be a great summer for the Muppets.

It won't really. If we're making signings the instinct will change immediately to 'do not wantism'. If we struggle to sign someone, every story is exciting. If we bash them out like a horny monk then soon fatigue will set in.

"Another £30m player, great. Woo-feckin-hoo "
