Anyone know much about this fella? 24yo forward from Brazil playing in the Ukrainian Premier League for Metaliat Kharkiv; rumours are that he's joining Chelsea in January.

I know he's scored one of the goals of the season. I know Metalist are doing very well in EL and I'm pretty sure he preceded Oscar at Internacional.

Don't know why Chelsea would want him. They have Hazard, Oscar, Mata starting there with Marin, Sturridge and Moses as backups and De Bruyne out on loan. Sounds a bit like the rumours that we are in for Lewandowski.

He's one of the best players in the Ukrainian league. Shakhtar would apparently want him to be the replacement for Willian (if the latter leaves).

I don't watch Metalist regularly, but I believe that he's been used by Metalist mostly as an advanced player on the wing, rather than as a traditional forward. I think that he would compete with Mata/Oscar/Hazard at Chelsea, rather than being a replacement for Torres (although who knows; maybe he can play the Torres role as well).

I just don't understand how Chelsea would obtain a work permit for him. He'll be 25 in January and has never been capped for Brazil.

Is he not a striker? Most of the players you have mentioned are attacking mids.

I think he's comfortable playing either as a striker, in an AM role similar to Mata, or on either wing. He's versatile by all accounts, but not the out and out goalscorer you'd think Chelsea would be looking for.

Its so obvious that Chelsea need a replacement for Drogba- they seem to be pissing around trying to stockpile creators with no presence in front of goal. I hope they continue with this blindspot because if they do start to rectify it they will become a lot more dangerous

They seem to want to paper over the cracks until Lukaku develops into 'the next Drogba'.

That's raci....

He does look very promising, do feel they need to bring a proper striker in though to bridge the gap. Torres looks well past it unfortunately and they will be looking at a huge loss for him whatever they do.

Lukaku or Taison?

A replacement for Torres if they can't get Falcao in Jan apparently.

Do you believe that?

Abramovic has is on to his forth manager since Torres' arrival and each manager has been sacked shortly after completely giving up on Torres. Maybe it's a coincidence and their poor form was the reason but bringing Benitez in, THE manager who had him playing at his absolute peak.

It's only a hunch but I reckon that Torres was Abramovics signing against the advice of various people and as a guy who doesn't like to be wrong or at least told he is wrong, he's trying his best to prove a point.

He's trying to recreate that FM save when he bought Torres for his favourite Russian team and he became an uber-legend, winning back-to-back POTYs until 2019

Who would have advised against signing Fernando Torres back in January 2010?

Anyway, Abromovic is a fecking Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime of the highest order, but if Chelsea identify a Striker who will score goals for them rather than just look like a lesbian a lot and feck all else, I've no doubt that Torres will be pushed aside (upon which he'll promptly fall over). Whether or not that striker is this Taison fella is anyone's guess though.

Isn't he a striker ?

Metallist would usually play him as an advanced attacking player on the left, I think. No idea whether he's more versatile than that.

Would actually make sense for Shakhtar to sign Taison if he can play as a striker, as Shakhtar's current main striker, Luis Adriano, is pretty average by the team's standards.
