From the Skills school of OP. Discussion and videos etc to follow in the thread. Good luck Tuppet and KM.

Team Tuppet/KM

Batting:

One of the finest T20 allrounder of all time Shane Watson (retired as number 1 allrounder in ICC rankings)
starts a deep batting line up with Alex Hales. 2 fast and furious openers which can give any bowling lineup a run around especially in these conditions. Watson in particular is known to have highest twenty20 international strike rate of all opening batsmen who have played over 30 matches. While Hales was part of one of the most successful T20 opening partnership with Lumb.

Following them is Raina, who (his current form non withstanding) is one of the most successful batsmen in T20 and particularly in IPL. At his peak he was dependable while also boasting highest strike rate in the IPL history and was at a point highest run scorer in champions league T20 tournament.

Following this solid start our batting line up goes to T20 expert batsmen - Samuel, Bailey, Lynn, Taylor and Russell. Their strike rates of 119.19, 135.74, 143.66, 121.66 and 165.71) speaks for themselves. On a batsmen friendly pitch this line up can dismantle even the best of bowling attacks.

Bowling:

We have probably one of the better bowling attacks in this draft. While the conditions are not favorable for bowlers in this game, it actually makes the bowling more crucial and it could turn out to be the decider in a batsmen dominated game.

In Watson, Malinga, Steyn & Russell we have 4 brilliant fast bowlers. Bowling attack is spear headed by probably the best modern T20 bowler in Lasith Malinga. A world cup winning captain and with 299 wickets in 221 games he is the highest wicket taker in all T20 matches. He would look to get some early wickets, while returning at death to restrict the opposition. Incidentally his fastest ball was tied for 4th fastest among active bowlers, a record he shares with his team mate Dale Steyn. Steyn is widely regarded as the best fast bowler of his generation. Even on a flat pitch him, Watson and Malinga with their accurate bowling could make the difference of few valuable runs which could decide the match in our way.

Supporting these 3 we also have Russell who is one of the best fast bowling allrounder and would provide another option if things don’t go as per plan with other bowlers.

For slow and spin bowling, we have Amit Mishra, a consistent and useful wicket taker esp in IPL. He was the first bowler to take 3 hat tricks in IPL history. He is supported by Samuels, Raina and Bailey. We have a pretty diverse and potent bowling attack and pretty sure that would make a huge difference in this game.

@Rado_N could you be set-up the following poll please?

Cheers!

With a flat pitch I personally think Tupper has a better bowling and batting attack.

D Smith? Dwayne Smith? He is a bad player. Also on what basis is ten Doeschate opening the batting? I've seen a lot of RtD (good player) but never seen him bat in top 3. You can't just put a guy who has never opened as an opener!

Also Russell at 8 is criminal for KMuppet. How many overs will he get to face on a flat track? Should bat 6 at worst.

Tie breaker for me is top 5 batsmen on each side. KMuppet have a much more balanced top order.

I am changing my vote to KM.

Why's that? Considering theres very little difference if you compare the bowling stats across the board, these three can make all the difference with the bat and behind the stumps.

Mr. Cricket himself.

MS Dhoni...batting and the difference he makes behind the wickets

And I am JRoot, chasing down a total of 230 with 83 off 44 balls.

Any more managers to vote around ? Most of what we think is already posted in OP, but we believe our team is much more suitable to win this game because -

1. Actual openers are opening the innings. Opening batsman is a very specialized position and Team Skizzo is playing a batsman who almost never opened the inning AFAIK. With my bowling attack we would be looking to put them into pressure early and get some wickets.

2. Much better bowling attack, Malinga, Steyn, Watson, Mishra and Russell are better T20 bowler than their counter parts in opposition.

3. Even Batting wise our team is marginally better as we have more specialized T20 batsmen, in the event of needing fast runs we can send someone like Russell up in the order to destroy the bowling. Watson, Hales, Raina, Samuels, Taylor and Russell are better T20 betsmen than the opposition.

4. Hales & Watson. On a batting friendly pitch, these two brilliant openers would look to pile up some runs, against a fairly ordinary bowling attack.

Your openers are definitely better than his but I think his middle order is better. Batting depth is not as important on a flat pitch.
Mishra has a good IPL record but is still nowhere near the level of Tahir. Your pace attack is better than his, but not by that much.
Overall a close game. I am leaning towards Skizzo but might still change my vote.

against a fairly ordinary bowling attack.

Crunch the numbers and there's marginal difference between the bowling units here.

We have a slightly better Econ, you have a slightly better ave.

Plus you want Bailey to come in and support the bowling? As far as I can tell. he's bowled a total of 12 balls and given up 24 runs. Please do :)

Plus Root, Hussey, Dhoni all come in and can do some heavy damage. Not even taking into consideration the effect Dhoni can have behind the stumps.

Couldn't contribute anywhere near as much as I'd have liked. Nephews funeral on Saturday, so it's all a bit crazy at the moment.

Good game @Tuppet @KM sorry couldn't have made more of this. Next game should be better hopefully.

Congrats. If you could take in reinforcements, then the obvious would be to replace Tendo with Watson as your opener.

Also sorry for your loss mate :(
