Batting:
Opening our batting is one of the top 3 batsmen in T20 cricket in Brendon McCullum. Then we have the classy Graeme Smith who is the perfect stable partner to McCullum's big hitting. This superb combo will give us the great start we need.

Following them is the brilliant KP. A superb stroke maker who scores briskly while not giving his wicket away due to his ability to score quick without taking unnecessary risks. To complete the top order is the classy southpaw, Sangakkara. Another batsman who is pleasing on the eye and scores runs quickly and does not give his wicket away due to his style.

To finish off our main batting line up, we have 2 quintessential T20 players in Symonds and Miller. They will wreck havoc at the end with their incredible hitting pushing us to the 200+ mark on this track.

Vettori at 7 is a very handy bat if he's needed, Bhajji and Johnson at 8 and 9 if they get few balls to tonk.

Bowling:
Bond. Shane Bond. Enough said. Partnering him with the new ball is Mitch Johnson. Plenty of pace, bounce, accuracy and wicket taking ability there to nab us a few wickets at the top.

To follow them ia Bracken who is a very good bowler himself.

Our spinners are Vettori and Harbhajan. Both very difficult bowlers to score off and have a knack of taking wickets. Their wily bowling will be critical in the middle overs to keep things tight and give us breakthroughs.

Symonds is the all rounder in the side and having an additional option like him after 5 proper bowlers is a big plus because he can bowl some good overs if anybody gets hit for a few.

Why We'll Win:
- Quality of batting. Baz, Smith, KP, Sangakkara, Symonds, Miller is pretty much a dream T20 batting unit. Baz in particular is in the top 3 in the format.
- Explosiveness of batting. All our batsmen can play their strokes, so we can maintain a high run rate throughout the innings. Bowlers can tonk a few as well.
- Five specialist bowlers. On a batting friendly surface like this, you need to make sure you don't have any weak links who will be smashed relentlessly. We don't.

@Rado_N could you set-up the following poll please?

VarShay have a stunning side... for ODI's

Samid has the better T20 team IMO.

Varun has a great flat pitch bowling attack.

Why I have the better team (bowling):
  • Samuel Badree is the most economical bowler in T20I history. Just look at him today, 1/26 on a flat track.
  • Narine is the second most economical bowler in T20I history.
  • Mendis is not only economical but he also has the best average in T20I history.
  • Umar Gul at his prime has arguable one of the greatest death bowlers. He would bowl yorkers at will.
  • Bravo is a trusted death bowler. Not only in internationals but also with Dhoni at CSK.
  • My bowlers have mystery. My opponent has Harbhajan and Vettori who don't have mystery and are ordinary on a flat pitch.
  • My bowlers are strike bowlers. They all take wickets. I have 16 overs from bowlers with an average of below 18. Opponent has no bowlers with an average below 18. At the end of the day wickets win matches.

Why I have the better team (batting):
  • Aaron Finch. Has an high score of 156 from 63 balls (248 SR). That's the highest score in T20I history. 2nd highest score is 124. Finch has the third highest SR in history behind Maxwell and Afridi. This guy will be facing bowlers with shit strike rates which means he is destined to score big.
  • Faf has one of the highest T20I averages at a very good SR, he will anchor the innings.
  • Yuvraj used to kill bowlers in his prime. Who can forget what he did to Broad in the inaugural WT20?
  • Mathews is a lethal hitter. His SR is a bit low because he has to stabilise the innings for SL. When he hits them they stay hit as England found out the other day.
  • Darren Sammy has a SR of 149, 4th highest in T20I history.

This thread has confirmed to me that people don't actually watch T20 here.

The team with the likes of Narine and Badree is losing 6-0

People are seriously overrating Varun/Akshay's bowling. Bracken? Bond? Really? None of them have played more than 40 T20 games (overall). One hasn't played since 2009, the other since 2010. Those were the days when the scores used to be 150-160 and batsmen didn't know how to pace their innings in this format. Bracken and Bond would get absolutely tonked these days. Just look at the state of Steyn in this current WT20 who is a better bowler than both Bracken and Bond.

This a 1000 times. Either they don't watch T20 or they genuinely believe this is an ODI draft.

I was shocked to see my vote made it 1-6 :wenger::wenger::wenger::wenger:

I'm losing my match 5-2 inspite of the fact that opposition is opening with Dwayne Smith and Ryan Ten Doeschate and I've Malinga, Watson and Russell. I give up.

 I haven't seen that thread yet. Seems mental.

wow you have bravo gul narine and badree and you lose. tbf Varun's batting is strong

Can't forget what Baz did in the first ever IPL game, though. One of the greatest ever, still. Smith was brilliant for RR when they won the IPL. And Symonds and Miller at the end is plain and simple carnage. If this was a pitch suited to bowling I'd have considered the impact of bowlers but here that top 6 will simply murder anything in sight.

It isn't just the batting either, for all the talk about Badree and Narine's econ, Vettori has the same as Narine and bhajji half a run more. They are very very hard to get away for big runs. On the pace front, we have Bond and Mitch to start the bowling with bracken to follow. Samid has Gul, Bravo and Matthews.

Median innings score in T20Is in 2010: 137
Median innings score in T20Is in 2015: 145
Hardly a seismic shift like you are talking about. Steyn has been in poor form in T20s for a few years now. Much better as a Test bowler than in this format of the game.

That scoring is quite unfair on @Samid, he's got the better T20 side..

Total bonkers

Thought that too. Bracken and Bond aren't too experienced in this format. Hard to say where their T20 peak was. Quality ODI bowlers no doubt.
Yup, exactly. They'd smash it out the park if it was an ODI match. This isn't though.

@Samid had the best side in this draft for T20.
