There's a Newbie called SuperSpurs. He hasn't posted anything yet but I'd like to recommend him for promotion anyway.

And Biff Byford should be relegated, or preferably banned.
 
and whilst we're at it Slabber, tone it down yourself..what did you honestly expect would happen creating a thread like that in the general?
 
Threads like that have been started in the General many times with little incident.

Possibly because this Biff Byford character wasn't around then.

Not sure we should tolerate Byford's sort. If someone said they hated Jews or blacks and proceeded to slag them off, they'd get banned. There shouldn't be different standards for Islam.

A few weeks ago there was some spastic, recently promoted from the newbie - and very obviously on a total feckin' wind-up, dervish2 actually, if I recall...anyway, 'Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime' came under the spotlight and because of some bizarre kind of problem that this dervish2 person had, it was ticked onto the bad words list for a while. Nobody had a problem with Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime either...and I've seen that blacks in the war joke on here a few times with no reaction as well.

It's not always easy for newbies to integrate smoothly I reckon, the mouthy ones then cause problems where there isn't one really. I wouldn't blame either party for that. Biff does seem a genuine cnut though at the same time - although obviously a wind-up.

Not true actually. Some cnut called red_acid went on an anti-Semitic diatribe a while back, no-one gave a feck. Not the only time either. Still, free speech innit.

As for Biff, he's just a child in the playground

The last bloke I saw try an anti-semitic diatribe in the Newbie got banned. I can't remember what he was called.

It doesn't make any sense to ban people for telling offensive jokes, but not banning people for promoting religious hatred, which could soon be a criminal offence if they can agree on the wording of the statute.

To be fair, I have claimed that christians are gay so I'd probably get banned too.

I'd like to add that Sultan, the Caf's resident Immam, responded with admirable humour and circumspection.
 
I see Zappa finally put his other foot over the line, that was coming. Biff seems a stupid and outright cnut

Every now and then one of these fecktards appears out of the abyss, and somewhat expectedly makes a complete fecktard of themselves, before being sent back.

Scary to think that some people don't even seem to get the idea of what is actually wrong with being racist

And Malice Cooper was banned for (amongst other things) an ant-semitic rant. If it is bordeline we usually ask people to pull their neck in first.
 
I notice some of Byford's posts have gone. The one where he said he's never visited a Muslim country and never will, for instance.
 
Maybe he wants to stick around. I can't remember what else he's deleted but there's certainly stuff missing.

BTW don't promote that spastic Imnew. He's a WUM, or Robbo.

Oh, I know...it wasn't a criticism, I wouldn't have wanted red_acid to be banned anyway, I was just saying. Malice Cooper was a different matter, cos he was just an all round twat, in every post.

I've been shocked and disappointed by some of the stuff that has shown up in the last few days on the Caf.

Seems like the whole world has a long way to go in terms of tolerance for people of other races and religions.
