Just thought i state some of points made on todays papers, regaurding possible transfer speculation with us and hopefully get some views.

1. We snubbed a £15 move for rivaldo - we turned down the chance to sign him next season for a cut price

2. Fergie cooling interest on nesta (nesta apparently favours a £30 million move to inter milan) and targeting, ayala as his number one choice and cannavaro as his second, or as possibly a double sigining - apparently meetings have taken place with ayala's agents

3. Fergie interested in barcelona's, dutch substitute defender michael reiziger in a £6.5 million deal

4. Fergie interested in fulham's irish defender, Steve Finnan

5. Fergie interested in porto's 23 year old centre back jorge andrade

Some interesting stories.... any views???????

Just have to say hope the one about reiziger aint true, he is shockin, why should we buy a barcelona reject, he is not United standard.

Sir Alex must sign a minimum of 2 defenders of which one of them must be a full-back. Our full-backs and cover for them were never weaker than they are now. If he gets centre-halfs and one full-back, so much the better.

I'd much rather take Puyol off them than their reject Reizeger. I think we'll get Ayala, if I had to put money on which defender it would be him. We have definitely made a bid for him in the past, and its all down to Ayala in the summer. His last comments though suggested he might sign a new contract with Valencia but I'm sure his agent will make him change his mind! Nesta has stated he doesn't want to move to us or Juve, but to Inter Milan. So we should forget about him. The Rivaldo story I find hard to believe, I'd certainly snap him up at that price and SAF is a known admirer of him. Finnan is not really better than what we already have. I don't know Jorge Andrade, maybe someone else has seen him play.

I think Ayala and Reiziger are the only likely signings out of that lot, simply because they've both shown interest.

Believe or not Karel has played very well for Lazio.

I don't like "reject" talk; it's far too simplistic imo. Is Bergkamp an Inter reject, or Henry a Juve reject or Vieira a AC reject?

Paul Ince, now Poborsky..Massimo Taibi is also being lined up as replacement for Jerzy Dudek..cos Houllier feels he needs a change in goalkeepers

;)

File all of these under 'flying pigs' fodder. Well, all with the possible exception of Ayala. ;)

ofcourse not..

Bergkamp was played out of postion at Inter, he's at his best playing behind a striker a la cantona...

i was talking to my inter supporting italian mate this weekend and he said thats typical italian ... try a player in 1-2 positions and if it doesnt work, put him in the stands and sell him

mendietas the latest example for that
