Striker Poll

Ronaldinho is probably available due to PSG's financial problems, and would perfectly fit our style of play with his touch and creativity and passing. He's also got pace and dribbling and can beat defenders. I wouldn't say no to Cisse though. ;)

I guess it would all depend on what formation we are going to stick with. Little Ronny would be ideal for the 4-5-1 formation while Cisse would be the most ideal partner for RVN in a traditional 4-4-2.

indeed, pigsy indeed. its a tough one. but i see cisse adapting better and i spose we lick our lips at henry so often these days...and cisse is available as well and has expressed a desire, which for me all else being equal swings it. :)

feck! Edwards is gone, lets have both :D

Cisse for me

Just out of interest, how many people who voted for Cisse have actually seen him play in more tan 5 games? <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

Cisse over Sheva <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

So thisis the forum where all the brains hang out.

new strikers you dont have to go only to ajax and buy mido or zlatan they both are big, fast, they can shoot, give headers and drible

Its got to be Ronaldinho. I haven't really seen Cisse play all that much, but from what I've seen of Ronaldinho, it would be real hard to beat his talent. He has pace as well as dribbling skills like no one else. He is AMAZING and we should move for him ASAP. Plus he has a Yorkie smile ;) .

exackerly, how many have just seen him on Eurogoals the odd time or perhaps just think he has a pretty name ;)
Tristan for me.

Someone once said to me of Mido that he couldn't score in a whorehouse.
While he may have exaggerated, the guy is another converted winger (ala Forlan), and is far from the finished article. Let him rot in Holland.

I can't believe the number of perople who voted for Cisse over Ronaldinho and Shevchenko.
Tristan appears to have received an inordinately small share of the vote.
And where are Paulo Di Canio, and Eidur Gudjohnson? They'd be popular choices too.

i didnt know how quick curly sue was see :p pace is why i wouldnt go for eidur, di canio is fast becoming fossilised.
shevchenko in a swap deal has been mentioned. tristan is not quite there imo, so "is it a wet-look perm or a peroxide po-pourri we're wanting today sir?" <img src="graemlins/angel.gif" border="0" alt="[Angel]" />

I voted for him too, great player.

Your right, arrogant players like Cantona and Tristan would never work @ OT ;)

yaps - Other (Enter your own choice) - Byland <hr></blockquote> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

tristan because he's a proven striker and yet for some reason isn't getting playing time at deportivo and might want to move on...

CISSE - Without question, would give us that HENRY type option up front, which would compliment SUPER RUUD perfectly. Will be the best striker in the world within the next three seasons!!! We will regret it if we dont buy him.

As back up my list would be:

1. CISSE
2. RONALDINHO
3. SHEVCHENKO

Those of you who haven't seen Ronaldinho play...you ought to take a look at Ronaldinho's goals...from Donaldinho's thread. It is proof of pure brilliance.
<a href="http://www.chez.com/ronaldinhogaucho" target="_blank">http://www.chez.com/ronaldinhogaucho</a>

hmmmm.....this dreamy thread has the taint of a let's screw our eyes up real tight and dream we have a mystery £30 mill to spend on a forward...Arse.
Get real people. The PLC fingers are still firmly fused to the purse strings after the Rio deal.
What Fergie wants sadly means nothing with the money men.
I would estimate our transfer window budget is about half that of Kevin the Badger at City.
I'm prepared to bet we won't buy anyone at all...either that or we will pay a shockingly over the top amount for someone over the hill or overated and be brassic in the summer.

Spot on. It is highly unlikely there will be any signings in January.

he's too short, has feck all pace...and is in a world of his own.

how can a player like that gel into the united side?

i say, stay away..... let city by him.

Bet he could beat every single one of you in a race - This would be a fantastic buy for United in my opinion

:D

1. Shevchenko
2. Cisse (Based solely on reputation, as I have never seen him play)

my picks.

1. Cisse
2. Ronaldinhio
3. Byland (Promising youngster and cheap. Should make Itchy proud). :D

Not an immediate option, and hype aside, but Rooney looks as lose to a sure thing you can get for a teenager. There may be a few skilled youngsters out there, but how many have the toughness and smarts at that age? Besides Byland of course.
