Bit of an odd thread for this forum, granted.

Anyway, just curious - seen a couple of people/places including Marc Wilson alongside the likes of Shawcross/Pugh/Higginbotham/Tonge as ex-Reds ahead of tomorrow's game, but I can't see any record of him having played for us at youth level. Wiki and assorted other sites say he joined Pompey from us at the age of 17 in 2004, so it seems strange that he'd not have featured at all (you'd have expected him to have signed as a scholar too).

One article I've found suggests he was at our Centre of Excellence in NI, which seems more likely. Maybe just a case of people getting mistaken/misled by that. Just wondering if anyone is able to clarify anyway.
 
Think there was an older Marc Wilson, who used to play for United. Scored in Cantona's testimonial and all.

Nevermind. That was Danny Wilson.

There was a Mark Wilson who went to Boro at the same time as Jonathan Greening, yeah. Different guy though of course.

Our Marc Wilson was a central midfielder - and as I remember, both were brought to Boro by MacLaren as his first signings when he took charge of the club.
