Skysports.com understands that Stoke City have made a double bid for Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome.

It is believed the Potters have lodged an offer of £16million for the pair, and are now awaiting Birmingham's response.

Birmingham are understood to be considering the offer, with both players keen to seal a quick-fire return to the top flight following the Blues' relegation, although it does not look like being enough to tempt them into selling both.

Stoke made their first move for Dann earlier this month - as revealed by skysports.com - and they are looking to steal a march on the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa who are also considering a summer move.

The Potters, who will embark on a Europa League campaign next season, are also looking to land Dann's team-mate Jerome.

Jerome has already been the subject of a failed bid from Bolton this summer, but now Stoke have made their move as Tony Pulis hopes to soon complete his first signing of pre-season.

Weird deal if it goes through. Dann is much better than Stoke and Jerome is utter shit on a stick. If he's being valued at £6m-ish then the transfer market's a farce.

Saw this on Sky Sports, to be honest its a good deal for both parties, Dann is Premier League quality and Jerome can do a job, I think he gets an unfair treatment, he's made for the Premier League.
£16million is a generous fee, would be suprised if it was'nt accepted, although Dann might stall to see if any other teams are interested in him.

Jerome would be a typical strong and powerful striker which suits stoke fine.

Dann I thought should aim higher. But if Stoke get him fair play to them

16m is a lot of money.
And stoke often play with a flat back4 and not with fullbacks so they houldnt have any trouble accommodating another CB

Shawcross and Huth have a great partnership and I see no reason to disrupt that, in my opinion they are both better than Dann.

Don't see any need whatsoever in signing Jerome.

Jerome would definitely suit Stoke and probably wouldn't mind some time on the bench, while Dann would be great competition for a centre half spot. Good signings, if they go through.

Jesus, they're going to be stubborn it seems, they'll be hard pushed to get a bigger offer, suppose Dann and Jerome might not fancy Stoke, just waiting for Liverpool to make a bid now...

Jerome is a decent player, nice touches and built well. Will do well at stoke.

Jerome is utterly awful on the ball. How Coates can keep Pulis on is beyond me. He's wasting millions and millions on horribly average players.

I dont think I have ever seen a striker miss as many one on ones with the keeper as Jerome. If he breaks the offside trap nobody can catch him. Luckily you dont need to coz he'll miss anyway.

Pulis signed Tuncay because of fan pressure, then shipped him as soon as he could, whilst subtly releasing rumours that he didn't train properly. Never seemed to be an issue at any of his other clubs. Same happened with Gudjohnsen. He's a complete embarrassment, and the cap just accentuates it.

Well it seems a bit weird to be complaining about a manager only signing 6'3 players in a thread about him trying to sign a 6'1 player. And the other isnt 6'3 either

Yeh, in fairness, you're being pedantic here. The point is that he would never sign a player who couldn't hold his own in a fight versus a bear.

Jerome is a typical Stoke center forward.

Big and strong and little football ability.

So why wouldnt you say that instead of claiming he wouldnt sign a player less than 6'3, when we're talking about him trying to sign players who are 6'1 and 6'2 ?

I mean the bear comment is about as accurate

Whats wrong with a manager being fond of big physical players anyways? I don't understand why your making such a big thing out of it alastair.
