My understanding is that he's been injured with a broken foot, but I don't know when he broke it or when he should be recovered but I see from TribalFootball today that he's seeking a loan move.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Stewart is seeking a loan move out of Old Trafford.
The Scotland U21 skipper is frustrated at the lack of opportunity he is getting this season, despite the club's mini-injury crisis in midfield.

Stewart is on the fringes of Berti Vogts' Scotland squad and knows only regular first team action can win him a call-up.

He said: "I'll look at maybe going out on loan so I can maintain a higher level of form."

He's On the Spot on friday, so I'll try to watch that and find out whats going on with him - cos I'd prefer him in the side right now to Phil Neville.

This would have been his big opportunity so we can only assume the injury story is correct. However there was a story that he had a disciplinary problem - throwing the ball at the ref in a Scotland match ? Can that possibly be correct and if so did Fergie give him the cold shoulder as a result ?

If he's not injured then it would be absurd not to play him, he must be injured. Terrible shame because as you say it would have been a big opportunity, think of all the games phil has played in central midfield, Stewart should have been playing all of those. Guess he must be fairly close to recovering from the injury to be thinking about a loan deal.

To be honest, I think he may have missed his chance at United, and probably feels that himself.

A loan move would do him good.

I hope we get to see him first before he goes on loan as he is supposed to be a very good player and with Keano and Butt out i would like to see him in the side injury permitting.
