Steve Bruce Interview

Absolute legend I’ll never forget being there when he scored those 2 goals against Sheffield Wednesday what a day

I haven't finished yet but an interesting listen. Simon Jordan is a bit irritating though.

My first ever match at OT. Still never get tired of watching Nigel Pearson casually lean on the post while the winning header sails right by him

Simon Jordan one step up from Piers Morgan in turn one step down from botulism.... cannot bring myself to watch it is there a transcript anywhere without the Jordan tosspot

Talk about a 1st game. Only downhill from there

Why do so many people hate Simon Jordan, I'm curious, I haven't heard all that much from him to be honest.

I never noticed that
Hand on the hip and all

well whoever it was its hillarious
Geez, i never noticed that either . Reminds me of Bayern's title winning goal last year where one of the defenders for the team they were against couldn't have been less bothered about closing the player down for the title winning goal.

He uses big words to sound smart and try to outwit others who don't have the vocabulary he does despite talking nonsense at times.

Loves to complain about the new woke world whenever racism or LGBTQ+ issues are mentioned.

Also loves to talk over guests and dominate convos when he's losing a debate yet throws a tantrum when they do the same to him.

This is what annoys me the most about him. He does it to everyone, guests and colleagues alike.

He is very opinionated and outspoken, bordering on the extreme side of things although in fairness to him he does normally stay on the politically correct side of things, however occasionally his true colours are revealed and he is truly unpleasant person, one such example he stated on air that he has not been allowed to give his true opinion on women's football on air, with a heavy intonation, nudge, nudge, wink, wink, that "I am not allowed to say but read between the lines" it would not be positive.... he comes across as being a very intelligent man of the people, albeit a very angry one... how to put this? I think his biggest fans will be daily mail and daily sun readers.

That said he isn't Peirs Morgan

Can’t believe he never got called by England
He must be one of the best uncapped players ever. I am trying to remember who where the national team CB' during the early 90's? Adams, Campbell, Gould, Keown?

Great old school player who always gave 100% for this club, and all round nice chap. Love Brucey

Butcher, Mark Wright, Des Walker, Pallister, and then later in the decade the likes of Southgate and Ehiogu played. Can't remember many others.

Hard to argue when looking at that list that Bruce shouldn't have been capped.

Also puts into perspective the relative paucity of options now.

outstanding leader and geat Captain. His character had a lot to do with United breaking that 26 year curse and finally winning the league again. One thing in the interview stood out for Me. That was Graham Taylor naming Brucey as Captain for England B then saying "You wouldn't be My choice as Captain" What was Graham Taylor's problem? To say that in front of the whole dressing room was a bit petty!

I didn’t realise he never played for England that’s annoyed me. Captain and important player at a club winning regular trophies and not even a single cap to his name.

Andy Cole was another one, he would consistently be scoring goals and being an important player for United yet had very few caps to show for it. Madness

Des Walker, Mark Wright, Garry Pallister and Terry Butcher were probably the reasons Bruce didn't get picked.

Campbell didn't get an England cap until 1996 (when Bruce was way past it).

There were lots of really good CBs back then. I don't remember it being a big deal that Bruce wasn't picked.

I don't care about the football stuff. I just want to know when he's going to write his next novel.

When you look at some of the CBs to have played for England since, he does seem unlucky not to have got at least one cap somewhere. Anthony Gardner, Zat Knight, Harry Maguire and Martin Kelly to name but a few

Kinda was a big deal, and I remember the media on about it a fair bit, as he was the only United player in the starting XI that wasn’t an international.

I loved Steve Bruce a great centre-back and leader. A Club legend.

That squad from 1992 to 1995 is still my favourite era. We had so many leaders and strong personalities in those teams
