Star Wars Holiday Special

Was this what happened in between the original trilogy and episode 1?

Was it another George Lucas brilliant idea?

If the answer is yes to both of these then why oh why did they let him make Episode 1?

If you haven't seen this yet I think it'll make you quite happy. Seventy minutes that are about 20 times more entertaining than the film. Also, I have no idea how the guy remains consistently funny for about sixty of those seventy minutes.

You can also watch them out of order. I did 7 3 1 2 4 6 5

It was a cash in by Lucas, to try and boost some revenue, and sell some toys. I had this on VHS, I was well chuffed when I found it at a toy fair and paid an extortionate price for a very crappy copy.

I was made before he had the green-light for Empire Strikes Back, when he got an OK for another movie, he apparently tried to have every copy of this destroyed (that's why I paid so much for it.) I don't know about the YouTube version but the one I had from US TV was full of ads for the toys, every couple of minutes or so. It was also the first appearance for Bobba Fett during a cartoon story in the middle of the film.

Not bad.

Yeah, that gets more apparent on the later episodes. Especially in a brilliant scene when he's down in his basement.

I watched all 7 episodes. Good stuff.

Same. And then watched some more about Star Trek films I'd never seen and still found them funny.

The Holiday special was incredibly shit, no wonder Lucas tried to make everyone forget it ever existed.

Yes and a son called Lumpy!

I remember watching this, I had it split it into three sections and take a break between each one because its so hard to watch

I've got a DVD of it on which you can choose to watch it with or without the original TV ads on CBS. Great stuff.
