So Sens in the finals, the 3rd year in a row a Canadian team makes it then.. which is pleasing

Hard to call if it will be Anaheim or Detroit joining them, I'll be on Detroit though.. gut feeling

I hope Detroit wins it all. They´re my favourite team.

And I remember that the Senators always were crap during the 90s, well atleast before the late 90s, so I never wanted to play them in my old video games.

Redwings all the way - hopefully they'll make it 3-2 this afternoon and start pulling away...

Think Anaheim will take it now that Pronger is back  he was afterall banned wrongly - that swedish twat was clearly acting. Too bad Kunitz is out though - he did well with Teemu.

Hate it that Buffalo didn't make it - they lost the tight games though and Sens was the better team. That first line is quite good I must admit - but will be different when they meet Pronger / Niedermayer

christ - Detroit almost scored a lucky one. Tommy Salolike goalkeeping there by Giguere.

Looks like this one is going to the final match (I hope!)... Still, the 'wings have had a better run in to this point than previous years, so hopefully they've still got the energy and drive to get it back to 3-3 and then push for the final...

Anaheim - Ottawa it is then

Wouldn't mind seeing Selänne win the Stanley finally as I used to love him with the Jets but as a team I'm going for the Sens.. and they're Canadian as well :)

Go Sens!!!!!!!!! :)

Unbelieveable that Ducks made it to the finals. It must be admit that they way of playing isn't beautiful to watch, but they seem to be able to get a win despite playing shite. They also play more or less with 3 lines and 3 defencemen :)

Great first game. Both teams are really up for it. Good scrappy hockey. I like both teams, but I think Anaheim will take it as they're more physical.

Hello North Americans / people not from North America

I watched the first game of the series last night, can't say I often watch Ice Hockey although I did go and watch the Manchester Storm play a few times before they folded. Anaheim by far the better team, yet they very nearly made a pigs ear of it. Someone randomly bought me some merchandise of theirs when I was a kid, so I guess I'd prefer them to win

Was a really good opening game. The final minute or two was really exciting and I was sure it was going to go into over-time with the man advantage.

Anaheim's speed and physicality showed in the 3rd Period. If not for the Power Play, the game would have been a yawner, but the Ducks weakness all year long has been taking stupid penalties and it showed (especially when they took two dumb penalties to get in the 5-on-3 situation.

By the 3rd the Sens defencemen were looking over their shoulders every time the puck got dumped in, which will continue to happen all series long. The Ducks' size and speed will overwhelm the Sens. There isn't a team in the East that can play like the Ducks do.

Look for the Ducks to go up 2-0.

Anaheim win no. 2. Looks like a short series..they are totally outpowering the Send at the moment.

The most dominant 1-0 performance ever, but Ottawa will win 1 of the 2 games back home.

Seems like your predictions will come true. Missed the game though :( The missus turned off the alarm clock so I didn't wake up for the game (was at 3 AM here).

It's playoff hockey..as Teemu said - you gotta keep your head up :)

load of rubbish and you know it

Pronger deliberately slams his elbow in the face of McAmmond as he skates past, cheap shot and nothing else

good that the NHL sees it the same way and has suspended Pronger again

Yeah. Not a big deal though - the Ducks are able to perform even without Pronger as against Detroit. They were unlucky yesterday - Alfredssons goal should have been disallowed. One of the Senators players should also be banned though after a similar tackle on McDonald..

The NHL are trying to even things out though - this serie needs to go to 7 games to raise the interest and get more games on tele. It is however also in the interest of the league to see Anaheim that is based in the very populated california where they want hockey to spread, to win the serie. So you will basically see things getting reversed in the deciding games.

Pronger = cheap shot thug

Pronger has always been a bully, that's the way he plays. he's just been getting more attention in this year's playoffs after the Holmstrom hit.

He plays a mean game, bullying the smaller players, and is certainly not afraid to play dirty. The NHL was right to suspend him, but he certainly isn't going to change the way he plays. His mean streak is what makes him one of the top defencemen in the league.

I have no problem with mean streaks but head shots have got to stop

Agreed..... but with players like Pronger, who take liberties with smaller players all the time, it will take some pretty big penalties to stop them.

On a side note, the league General managers are discussing whether or not to impose a penalty for any hit directed at a player's head, even if it is with the shoulder....

Anaheim Ducks win the series 4 - 1

Ottawa got taught a lesson in hockey, and it's shame that they got beaten so convincingly by the Ducks

Goodbye NHL until next season

I was so fecking pissed when Detorit lost that game 6 against Anaheim.

Detroit totally outplayed them the whole game.

And now Anaheim win the Stanley Cup.

Playoffs were disappointing. Admittingly I didnt watch it all, but its just been underwhelming and not as good as it used to be.

Alfredsson, Spezza, and Heatley were shit

Their line was meant to win Ottawa this cup. Everyone was talking about how they could overcome adversity, but they've looked nothing like a team that can fight back this whole series (bar game 3)

They were not in the same line at the latter part of the final.

I'm glad Anaheim have won, mainly because I have met Rob Niedermayer while he was playing for Ferencvaros during the lockout.

Happy for Selänne, got to lift the Cup

Agreed.... Teemu has always been a classy player...

Beat me to it...

BTW, the IMVHO. the Senators would have lost in the first round if they had played in the West. They couldn't have beaten Nashville, San Jose, Detroit, or Vancouver. This was always going to be a short series because the Ducks could match the Senators speed, but had a big size advantage, which they used.
