According to German football magazine Kicker, Juan Paplo Sorin (Left Winger)Dejan Stankovic (Midfielder) and Claudio Lopez (Striker) are to be involved in a deal which will see Veron and 10million €uros going the other way. The same magazine also states that United have lost interest in Nesta because they rekon that Ferdinand is sure to arrive. Now before everyone starts lynching me it is only what I have read and I cannot confirm any of it. I wonder why (if true) it involves strikers and midfielders when it is in defence where we are most in need. Well ok Ferdinand is also mentioned. I wonder if any of it will come true.???

Corriere dello sport did run with a story like this saying that Lazio would be meeting with Veron's agents on Tuesday, with us after Sorin and Lopez in some kind of exchange deal. Would kind of make sense - doesn't Lopez play left midfield or up front? Still almost certainly a load of cobblers, though.

If it hasn't happened then there's no truth in it at all. The Lopez quote could've been completely fabricated since he's in Italy and the press there have been known to do such things in the past.
I think there is some truth in it because Lazio owe United cash and Veron want's to go back there. we will have to wait and see but as you have said it is still not a done deal. Just talk.
We really can't say if there is truth in it, since it hasn't been commented on by the official site. Just a bunch of press articles and a dubious quite from Lopez, since Fergie tradaiionally doesn't air out his transfer ideas in the public.
