Sri Lanka to win.

Should be a good game. I've never really rated the Kiwis but they seem to pull something out of the hat at the right moment.

It all depends on our batting, if the top order does well we will win if not it will be a struggle especially in the bouncy pitches.

Malinga should be back so that should be a big advantage.

It will be a good game, and will be more close than you guys may think. SL might just edge it because of their more all rounded bowling attack, however it depends on so many things (will Bond fire, will SL lose quick wickets, who will win the toss, will Malinga fire) its too close to call.

I have money on Sri Lanka to win the World Cup, so they'd better fecking win.

I think they have too much fire power to lose, at any rate.

Both teams took a 9 hour trip from Grenada to Jamaica, so every player would be tired. Hopefully having Bond and Oram back would do the trick.

What do you reckon Justin, Patel or Gillespie? Patel's been very good so far and was the only credible bowler against Australia, however Gillespie is a genuine pace bowler capable of bowling 140, and his extra pace may be invaluable on a hard deck.

I'm leaning towards Patel, he can do a sort of tidy, restricting role. Gillespie is not really showing anything to suggest he should be in the side. He's been expensive and I don't think he'd trouble the Sri Lanka players too much.

Yea I agree with you, Patels done very well in the games hes played and works well with Vettori. Lets just hope Bond doesn't have an off day and that Franklin actually fires.

NZ will be hoping it doesn't do anything for the SL spinners. We have two very important spinners to our bowling attack in Patel and Vettori :)
It's more likely to help spinner as the games go on, so if it helps you spinners now, you are fecked IMO. Murali will run through your middle order who really have scored most runs this tournament

It really isn't. Murali said that he think it's a typical Sri Lankan wicket and I agree. I expect Sri Lanka to post a score above 300 and then pitch to get slower when NZ bat. NZ are not out of it but it would be a big test for NZ to chase whatever SRL puts on the board.

As we speak Sangakarra out very cheaply. I feel this game is gonna be a goody. :smirk:

Sangakara looked out of touch anyway but you have a chance now to clear out SRL middle order quickish, hopefully Bond will do some damage in his second spell. I reckon he was struggling against left handers.

he bowled a few good inswingers that went across them. However he hasn't played for a week and looked out of touch. Hopefully by his second spell Vettori and Patel have put on the brakes, putting extra pressure to score off Bond.

And what happens, a mini top order collapse.

Taylor got screwed royally by that Aussie idiot Simon Taufel though

"Oram chips a doosra straight back to Murali and the little magician takes a fine catch, falling to his right and snaffling the catch at the feet of non-striker Fulton"

OMFG the legendary doosra from worlds best bowler. OMFG he just keep proving he is the best ever!!!! takes out the best batters every fecking game.
