Main goalie should always be #1. Should’ve slapped some sense into Onana.
 
We actually use to be good at numbers. But even now we are soft with that.

Good thing I don’t care as much as I use too.
 
I thought we couldn't make changes after the season started? They must've changed the rule this year.

I know there was the Ronaldo / Cavani switch a few years ago, but that was an exception for which we had to get special dispensation from the PL.

But these aren't changes, just confirmation for new signings.
In Garnacho case, no one played with #17 this season.
The case with Ronaldo/Cavani you mentioned.

Garnacho played with his old number and switched down to 17. In previous seasons, that would not normally have been allowed.

I don't know why they can't announce these numbers earlier? Garnacho has been playing in 49 all summer and the start of the season and now 4 games in he changes to 17. There will be possibly thousands of people with a ruined shirt now.

I give you that one, the pressure got to him but it's an extreme case.

You could give our new singings any number and they'd perform to their true ability in my opinion. I guess it remains to be seen if the famous 7 shirt weighs down Mount..

Purely coincidental, because he wasn't really better the following season when he switched his number back to 25.

It was only when he started playing as a right back that he starting performing well again.

It shouldn't bother me but I feel Garnacho should've got the 11 and Hojlund 17. The backup goalkeeper wearing the number 1 shirt feels wrong too.

If he can reach his potential, then his next big contract (in 3-4 years) will probably come with the no.7 shirt.

Inputting a number in the panel for substitution. And I suppose a variety of identification uses for officials in all the paperwork.
