Yet another midfielder... :wenger:

Spurs try to pry Scott Parker from Hammers - ESPN Soccernet

West Ham have rejected a last-ditch bid by Spurs to snatch Scott Parker in exchange for Robbie Keane. The Hammers are still hoping to sign Keane, although negotiations are now sure to run until the final day of the transfer window on Monday.

ESPNsoccernet has been told that the Keane deal with Spurs will be concluded over the weekend and the deal signed on Monday morning.

But West Ham were forced to tell Spurs "no" for the third time regarding Parker, as Harry Redknapp has twice before tried to capture the midfielder. Redknapp was desperate to bring in his long-term target and offered £8 million plus the £6 million-rated Keane, but again West Ham turned them down, even though Spurs might have also thrown in Jamie O'Hara as part of the package.

West Ham want to take Keane on loan, paying a £1 million fee, with a view to a permanent deal on the condition that the Hammers stay in the Premier League at the end of the season. Spurs want a £6 million fee even if they go down, and that issue is the final piece of negotiations.

'Arry is a spastic

I see West Ham are going for Robbie Keane too after signinig Demba Ba. Football is so dumb at times, they would be much spending this money on improving their defence.

Spurs should sign a striker, it is the area of their squad which is weakest in quality.

I agree Spurs need a class striker. I also think they need a really solid CB as well.

Saying that I hope Parker leaves West Ham. I like him as a player but dont like West ham and want them to get relegated.

With Palacios being quite poor lately (ever since the shit with his brother which he seems to have struggled to get over, understandably), so Spurs could definitely do with another defensive minded midfielder. They've gone for both Parker and Phil Neville, both of whom would've done well for them.

Spurs have reportedly gone for quite a few players this window, but to be fair to 'arry I'd say they are all good targets.

And harry gets annoyed at being called a wheeler dealer.

For some reason I find harry annoying.

'Arry is absolutely ridiculous. He can't go through a deadline day without getting someone.

I really do loathe the man.

1. Harry likes the transfer market, doesn't he?

2. How many player do West Ham want in their squad? 40?

ESPN saying 10 million offer rejected.

Why do they need another central midfielder? :wenger:

Parker is an average premier league player.

He would get games for us, yes, but so does Darron Gibson.

I strongly disagree that he is 'top 4 material'. He is solid enough, but really nothing special. Not the sort of player that will take Spurs forward.

His current reputation seems to be based solely upon the fact that he's by far West Ham's best player. He'd probably play for Spurs due to them having only Palacios who does what he does but they'd need to replace him within a season or two.

See i'm the opposite i like the bloke he seems to say what he thinks in some funny youtube videos, the transfer muppet in me also likes him and sometimes i wish fergie would do the same.

He's ten times the player Gibson is.

He isn't though, that's the thing.

Parker's a good player, but with known and distinct limitations. You know what you are getting, but it's not a top player.

I reckon Parker would be a very good addition to the United midfield. He isn't, imo, first choice quality but would be a great addition to the squad. Far better than Gibson for 442, far more available than Hargreaves and would work well with Carrick, Scholes, Fletcher or Anderson in terms of balance.

I don't for one second think we will go for him, but I would be very happy if we did sign him.

We have enough decent central midfielders. What we need is a touch of real class, especially with Scholes and Giggs not too far away from the end now.

No point in buying the likes of Parker IMO. We will probably need to spend big money.

Need to, but we probably won't do it. Parker would be a decent bargain signing and add to the squad. Would also allow us (arguably) to hold on a season or two to see if Pogba/Morrison/Tunnicliffe progress to the first team.

Whenever anyone speaks about him on TV or on the radio they talk in glowing terms.

People forget he plays in a very poor team. He's a quality player who can boss the game. Be a good signing for any PL team.

Once or twice a season.

I've watched him quite a few times this season for West Ham and I'm always impressed. Rarely gives the ball away, great positional sense and drives his team forward whenever he gets the chane. Very good player who plays in an absolutley god awful side.

Was always impressed by him at Newcastle as well. You know exactly what you're getting. Not surprised Spurs are interested.
