Woo-oo-oo I got erection
We all heard about how we are going to sign Quaresma, wich is a very good signing to backup Becks and in a longer perspective replace him. But I also heard about this Cristiano Ronaldo in Sporting who we also been linked with and I don´t really know much about him.
So, where on the pitch does he play (heard he´s a winger who also can play upfront)? How old and so on...

This link with Lisbon will be a good move. This will allow United to develop their youngsters while on loan to Lisbon and open the doors to signing Lisbon prospects. I would be in favor of Bellion, Richardson, Fletcher, and Tierney loaned to Lisbon for the 2003-04 season. Possibly sign Quaresma and allow him to remain on loan for one more season. Especially if United sign Kewell, Ronaldhino, and 2-3 experienced players that would block the youngsters chances of first team action this upcoming season.

Did United formalize a similar agreement with a French club?

You might be thinking of Nantes, but I don´t know if the dealis done yet.
I don´t know if Lisbon are so keen on being our feeder club and getting our younger players on loan. I think it´s more for us to be able to get our hands first on Brazilian and Pourtugese talents.

true.
i hope fergie gets the quaresma lad in now and asks for an agreement about ronaldo in a year. he's 18, quaresma is a year older.

i don't know if these kids are that good in real life, but in CM Fabio Paim abd Ze Mario are extremely talented youngsters! :p

The brazilian idea must be a central part of it; players that United would like but can't get because of work permits, and players that Sporting don't have the money for. Is protugese going to be the second language at OT?
Maybe also some young United players will be loaned out, but Sporting have more talent than Antwerp.

i imagine the only time we will be loaning players to sporting is if we have a young player in a position that they have a need in or if we buy a ronaldo or quaresema and loan them back for more first team action.

Brazillians can get portugese passports quite easily, so don't be suprised if they become an established feature of the United team in the years ahead through this link with Sporting.

United is an english team obviously; that should be its backbone, and especially players raised as youths at old Trafford, but as long as its not overdone- some brazillian magic could really compliment United's brand of entertaining football.

Valencia have agreement in place for Ricardo Quaresma and Cristano Ronaldo

Hope this not true after this link up with Sporting, fergie allowing Valencia to sign them both
