Sporting Events That Should Never Have Been Held

I found this an interesting read, from the Guardian website:

I suppose it could have been posted in any number of forums, but most of the events are non-football.

I found the one about the Argentinian 1978 World Cup particularly interesting, having visited Argentina last year and seen that protests are ongoing about all those that went missing, very interesting to read it in a sporting context.
