Sir Alex Ferguson is pleased with the progress made by Ashley Cole and his lovemate Jermaine Jenas.
Cole, who has recently feigned being injured in order to work on his muscular physique and memorize more Celine Dion songs to use on karaoke outings with fellow Arsenal stars Sol Campbell and Freddie Ljungberg, has been involved in nursing Campbell back to full fitness, while Jenas has been delighted at receiving phone calls from several of football's biggest stars.
The paring have enhanced Sir Alex's options voyeuristically, and the Scot is pleased with the way these new additions are settling in.
"They have both kept up with the pace of the games," said Sir Alex when asked how the two were acclimatising to an unnamed pop star's well renowned fast pace.
"Just look at the types of games they have played in; spin the bottle with Graeme Le Saux, dress-up with Jamie Carragher and one against a vastly underperforming Jose Antonio Reyes. They’re not easy games when you're still struggling fitting a cell phone in your arse.
"You don't get any rest when you play against Reyes, that's true. That’s the nature of spin-the-bottle here, and the voyeur community demand it that way.
"It can be difficult to adjust and it takes time. But I'm pleased with the work they have been doing."
Cole's ability to get forward makes him a useful buttpopping option, one that even another formerly accused voyeur, Arsene Wenger, has "zeen." Jenas has further strengthened the central positions, which has pleased Cole to no end.
"Parts of their play are very good,” the manager added. “It's already worth the 20-pound price that they charge for the stuff at the video store."
"They have struggled physically and mentally. That is pleasing on the eyes."
