Anyone watching this show? I've just watched the first 6 eps over the last 2 days. Thought it was a bit dodgy after the first ep but stuck with it and its now getting pretty good. Like a cross between 'Rome' and 'The 300'

Andy Whitfield, who’s currently starring in the Starz drama Spartacus: Blood and Sand, has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and will begin treatment immediately in New Zealand. As a result, production on the second season of Spartacus — which was scheduled to get underway later this month — has been delayed.

Whitfield’s cancer was detected early and his prognosis is good. “I’m receiving excellent care, and am feeling strong, positive and determined with an army of support behind me,” said Whitfield in a statement.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Andy,” said Starz president Chris Albrecht. “His health, of course, is our primary concern. He has our complete support during this difficult time.” (EW)

First off, it's just '300' not 'The 300'. I watched the first episode of The Spartacus: The Blood and The Sand. Thought it was pretty awful. Haven't watched it since.

I like it, it's cheesy as feck and the dialog is woeful at times, but the blood and tits makes up for it.

Wouldn't compare it to Rome though, cause that was a far superior show.

Someone got out of bed the wrong way..

I did say that the first ep was pants, but stuck with it and I find it quite entertaining now

Absolutely. However, its definitely watchable now that 24 has died.

Heh, well I thought 24 died a long time ago, personally.

But yeah, it's very watchable, helps that it is eh ... 'released' on a Saturday morning too, when no other TV show is. There was another thread about it where I described it as my guilty pleasure, which is still how I feel.
