Well done, Alex. I'm sure the States is the complete opposite. A utopia in which Muslims are well loved.
I'm not saying the U.S. perfect, not by a long shot; That said I think it is weak that you deflect something that is clearly racist that Spain(and seems to do quite a lot in sport) onto the US. "well the US isnt perfect, so I guess that justifies us doing the slanty eyes"
Muslims are treated better here than most other places in the world, why else would so many immigrate here if it were otherwise
Not surprising Spain is a country of racists
To be fair although it is bigoted I'd be shocked if any Chinese will be too offended.
If an international team wore ginger wigs to Ireland I wouldn't care. I don't see the malice, it's not as if the oriental characteristic of having 'split-eyes' is something to be ashamed of.
Agreed. I'm Chinese. I actually like having the small eyes. Helps keep the sun out when it's too bright.
If other people want to pull their eyes that way, that's fine with me. They'll look like a dumbass for a while and that's really their problem, not mine.
I could probably understand if others don't feel the same way. I just think people could lighten up a little bit. It's a joke. To me it doesn't cross the line into persecution.

The US is just hyper sensitive in this situation. I think its probably a non-event for many countries. However the US media has to talk about something and the obvious outrage of this act must be addressed ;p
Should anyone really care if you showed up with black face paint on and a giant baking potato jammed down your Lycra shorts?
The NBA is apparently gonna suspend the Spanish players for a few games next year hahahaa
Where is that coming from Alex, could not find anything on the web.
Probably; If they Olympics were in Germany and I wore a swastika ban on my arm and grew a Hitler style moustache some people would be unhappy

Apples and oranges. Obviously there are countries that will be sensitive to certain things. However it is extremely arrogant to paint the entire world with our own cultural views.
The Chinese may not find it offensive at all, yet we are going to punish people for something that we feel they should be offended by?
It's like boxing, there is a guy with black trunks and white trim and there is a guy with black trunks and silver trim with tassels.
Or you could say its a black guy and a white guy right? Wrong. In America someone might get a sore vagina over that so instead we can't say what is obvious. It is just a symptom of a society that has had serious issues in the past. Germany as you pointed out would be one. However that isn't to say that every nation on earth is as sensitive to things that may or may not be actually racist.
If anything it is a form of flattery, we all know white kids who wish they were black. The fact they dress like certain elements of the black community, talk like it and wish they were actually apart of, it is not racist. Slanting your eyes for a picture isn't racist either.[/QUOTE]
Team fake slanty eyes got fecked up today , maybe they should open their eyes so they can see better
Stupid but they are going to be punished by the NBA for doing an advert as instructed to do by the Spanish team seems a tad unfair.
Amazing that none of the players refused mind.
