Some of the infrastructure might not be how people would like it, but the pitch itself is getting high praise from everybody.

And the Guyanans will be out in force today and on Friday, theyr'e really up for it, a real carnival atmosphere apparently.

Any fans bothered to turn up today? I hate major tournaments where no-one bothers to show up

Well Jack Bannister gave the impression that Guyana was buzzing with anticipation, so i would say yes.

Although i have not seen any pictures or heard any commentary of the game itself, Sky and the BBC are both going with the Windies -Aussie game.

Last time i heard, Sri Lanka were 40/1 after 8 overs, they elected to bat by the way.

Tharanga is the man out on 12.

Tis true Sky have Windies on, am watching it now. May soon be tempted to switch though as they're 16-2 already. Good news for England. You can red button to see the Sri Lanka game though

Not if you've got Virgin, Sky don't allow them to have all the extra features.

And that is all before they took away Sky One, Sky News and SSN, but i digress.

EDIT: 50/2

Jayasuriya caught for 26.

Sri Lanka 209 all out after 50 overs. Dilshan and Arnold with 50's

SA doing it easily at 118-2 so don't know what SL aren't putting more pressure with the bowling, using bent arm at one end and trying to contain at the other.

i wanted sri lanka to win soo badly, but malinga.... what a player.

Unlucky Sri Lanka, Peterson edged the winning runs through the vacant second slip area

Malinga has set a new ODI record - he is the only player ever to take 4 wickets in 4 balls

How is Malinga's action not illegal?

Because it is not, he has a round arm action and at the time of delivery his arm his above his waist.

What a performance by Malinga and he nearly had 5 in 5.

In the end it all came down to our batting and top order has to accept the blame for this defeat.

Are you sure? Can't seem to find that in the official laws.

"A ball is fairly delivered in respect of the arm if, once the bowler's arm has reached the level of the shoulder in the delivery swing, the elbow joint is not straightened partially or completely from that point until the ball has left the hand. This definition shall not debar a bowler from flexing or rotating the wrist in the delivery swing"

I actually think his action is fine, but it must be a bitch to get the accuracy he does with it. I don't think we'll see many youngsters attempt to copy it in the future.

As long as you bowl with a straight arm, you can bowl it over or under arm

Not true anymore, they banned under arm bowling. Malinga is classed as side armed, though I'm not sure exactly what the defining points of each type is. Personally I would ban all actions that result in the ball being released below the level of the bowlers shoulderline
