What's the official line on this?

Obviously there is a lot of banned Twitter accounts, I was wondering if there is any media sources that are banned, or could be.

My main gripe is The Express. For anyone that has followed transfer rumours for the last couple of years it is blindingly obvious that the only transfer rumours that they don't fabricate are the ones that are virtually announced by the club themselves.

Thoughts on this? It would, in my opinion, make the transfer forum a bit better for everyone if news sources were vetted a bit or is it part of the "fun" of the transfer forum that half the discussion is based on some two bit journalists fiction?

The express is obviously one of the worst, but i think it requires a bit of common sense on behalf of the person posting. Sometimes it's obvious that another source is just rehashing what the express said. Unless it's on BBC or Sky i don't even bother these days.

Express is my gripe too. Problem is if one source gets banned, then there'll be lots of people suggesting something else be banned too. It's best off self moderated. If you see someone post an express article, show them how pointless it is.

I agree entirely with this, though given the Facebook account posts these things, I fear the mods do think they add something.

I did wonder about the hits thing, which is understandable. The Caf is obviously no different to a lot of other web pages that depend on clicks for advertising.

If that's the case then it's just how it is and I can ignore the odd article about a sensational double swoop for Sneijder and Veloso.

If it's down to self moderation, could there be a clearer line put out from Staff that Transfer Articles and Rumours from unreputable sources are frowned upon?

Ugh the Daily Mail is the worst

The Daily Mail occasionally come up with the odd bit of useful information. Usually because Ladyman seems to have a direct line to Woodward and gets briefed according to what the club wants out there.

The Express make everything up. Everything.

Yep, Express is worst by far. There's a lot of hate for the Mail but they do have some stuff that's spot on.

I know it's kind of obvious anyway, but I know for an absolute fact that both the Express and The Star don't give a flying feck about having any truth to their transfer stories. They just ask their reporters to fill column inches about certain clubs.

Its hard to police which tweets and articles random posters decide to contribute, which is just as well since the legitimacy of a rumour is completely subjective. In a perfect world, we would just have articles from the likes of Mitten, Ogden and their ilk. Unfortunately, there's always someone who scampers in with a bombastic headline they read in the Express, Star, and similar rags.
