Souleymane Coulibaly

The new Drogba. It's not just his scoring he has a fair bit of skill.

I don't know who he is but we need him at our club with a name like that.

City will bid 25 mil for him this week, but really he'll be dreaming of Barca

The World CupU-17 can be very misleading. Some stars shone in this tournament to become very good players like Messi, Aguero. But in other cases there are those like LeTallec, Sinama Ponggole who took the tournament by storm as top scorers, MVPs but turned out to e average players at best. United's Anderson was a beast at the U-17 and was expected to be the next Ronaldinho. Nuri Sahin (Turkey) was also a star during his U-17s

He's scored 1 goal in 11 in the Italian u20 competition, the Campionato Nazionale Primavera, according to this. And I only watched 20 mins of him but a comparison to Drogba in style seemed utterly ridiculous.

he is the new Lukaku

Doesn't look to have the same stature as a Drogba or Lukaku type player. Admittedly, I'm basing this solely off YouTube highlights posted both here and in the newbies, but he looks as though he's a bit more of a tricky customer and more athletic too.

Rumours that Madrid are following him lead me to think that maybe they see this lad as an alternative to Neymar.

I watched him against Brazil and thought his movement was outstanding. He was constantly looking for space, threatening runs in behind the defense and keeping the center backs guessing. Obvious sample size = 1 disclaimer but he seems like a very intelligent player.

sarcasm fail

Great signing for Spurs.

He looked insane at that tournament but history is littered with players who thrived at youth tournaments but couldn't make the grade when they reach the top level.

Good start for the lad: scored the equalising goal (2 - 2 FT) on his debut game for a Spurs XI against Brighton & Hove Albion in Portugal after coming on at HT .

He equalled Sinama Pongolle's goalscoring recor at the U-17. For his sake I hope he can outperform Pongolle in his career though!

Looks like a promising player though, definitely. Nice signing for spurs. How much did he cost?

The reports vary between 1.5 and 2m.

Promising lad(from what I've seen, not much). We'll see how he turns out.

30m transfer to United in 3 years then.

Was it compensation or a direct transfer fee? He is 16 right? so he could legally not have had a contract with his Italian club Siena was it?
I don't know any details ... I don't even know for sure that any fee was actually paid.

All I know is that he's aged 16 and used to play for the U-19 youth team of AC Siena, but I don't know whether or not - just before he signed for Spurs - he was still registered with them in some way.

If he develops well he'll be the new Drogba for sure, the best player at the u17 World Cup.
