Ok, just wondering if it's meant to be like this or my TV's knackered. . .

But when I play games sometimes there is like a white outline around some of the images. . .like it's way too sharp. Obviously I changed the sharpness setting to "0" but it still remains. If I turn up the noise reduction, it blurs the image and seems to help a bit.. but surely that's not right? I use HDMI to connect. I've tried multiple cables.

For example on fallout 3 when I am in the wasteland it gets quite bad. I'd say maybe 33% of the games do this.

TV, blue-ray, and DVD's etc (DVD runs through a seperate HDMI cable to a different output) all work beautifully. . .

I thought I'd post here because I'm sure someone else here has the same set-up, and I'm wondering if it's the same for them.

Should I try component cables? I'm hesitant to do this, as I want to utilize 1080p.

So there's a way to remove it? Or is it something I have to just deal with.

Around the people, the scenery etc. Like a ghost but it's really sharp. Like when you feck around with your video card's sharpness option and everything looks way too sharp and creates like a white outline.

XMB is fine. When I play video's/DVD's or Blu-Ray they're fine, too. A lot of the games are fine also. . .

Fallout 3, Oblivion, NBA Street Homecourt, FIFA 09, Jericho off the top of my head.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion are both Bethesda Works, but FIFA and NBA are EA. Jericho, I wouldn't have a clue. . . but to me there doesn't seem to be a pattern.

Thanks mate. I'm at a loss of what to do, it's frustrating the hell out of me. I can't enjoy games like Fallout 3 because of it.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder? Maybe. .

Weaste, I went and bought a set of component cables and it looks fecking fantastic now. The issue seems to have gone.

Hrm.. I know HDMI looks the same regardless of the quality of the cable, seeing as how it's a digital signal. . so really I'm at a loss. I tried multiple cables, even.

Possibly. I get my xbox 360 elite today which has a HDMI output - I should be able to narrow it down some with that. Well, at least I should be able to see if it's a problem with the TV, anyway.

Yep, has to be TV. It happens when I use my HDMI cable for my 360, too. Component lessens it (same as on the PS3 - it doesn't remove completely, just lessens it).

Strange though, doesn't happen when I watch DVD's Or Blue-Rays and I use HDMI for that.

Sucks balls using 1080i for 360 and PS3 because it actually looks better than 1080p :(
