Played the whole game as Accrington Stanley grab an important win away at Gillingham.

One of the oeigional clubs that formed the Football League. Plenty of history there.
That's Accrington FC who no longer exist. The current Accrington Stanley formed in 1968.

Accrington FC (1878 - 1896, Football League founders 1888-1893)
Accrington Stanley v1 (1891 - 1966, Football League 1921 - 1962)
Accrington Stanley v2 (1968 - present, EFL 2006 - present)

Saw he is playing with Donald Love. At some time there were expectations from him too, or at least to do better than league 2. Still a great name

No they weren’t. He was an average u21s player who the expectation would always be to play in League 1/2.

The only reason he played in the first team was because there were 7 other RB options out injured, not because anyone expected him to become good.

I thought I recognised that name. His dad started his career at United in the youth team and played a lot of games for Plymouth Argyle, which is the closest professional club to where I grew up.
