I doubt this thread will pick up much steam..

But upon listening to 'Goodnight Saigon' (quality song) by Billy Joel (Shit Artist)

I was wondering does anybody ever find this, an artist who you think their entire back catalogue is rubbish, but have a certain love of one particular song?

You could say any one hit wonder if you are awkward, though the Living Years by Mike and the Mechanics comes to mind.

and in regards to the one hit wonder thing I guess i should have said Artists that have achieved at least a decent amount of success with a series of works.
 
I'd also say Two Tribes by Frankie Goes to Hollywood
 
Wonderwall by Oasis.

One hit wonder doesnt really apply because there are loads of artists who arent actually very good, but have still made a great career for themselves in the industry even if they have very little musical talent. So they may have had several "hits".

Its all subjective.

There's very little variation in any of their songs, so one person could pick one as their best and another person could have their favourite.

I'd find it hard to pick more than one though because so many sound the same and when Wonderwall came out that was the only time I viewed them as a good band. Course I hadnt heard the other songs till after, it may be that if I'd heard a different one first, thats the song I'd have listed here. It wasnt to be. I liked it, at the time and I still think they are shit.
 
Not my favourite but go take a look at my new thread in this section of the forum if you'd like to see a band I'd consider more impressive than Oasis.
