Fergie on Keane book

“These books are never actually done with the club’s consent, but we do peruse them and go through them thoroughly before they go out to the publishers. If it had been felt that there was something untoward in it, the club would have brought it up. People look at it as him having a go at the players, or whatever, but in fact he’s having a go at everything, including himself. He’s more openly critical of himself than of anyone. That’s the great thing about Roy. It’s a fantastic read in terms of a man who can open himself up like that. Not many players, in fact not many people, can do that. Usually, with these things, people tend to fudge a lot of issues and just say nice things about people, but this is the honest truth. That’s just the way Roy is.”

All this is great. Bit of a seige mentality. No one likes us. It us against the world. Ferguson defending his players in the face of press criticism. Its all boiling up nicely to make United a very determined side this year. :D

I think you forget that Stam was suspended for the majority of last season, he was a big loss but Fergie has said it wasn't the book and i trust that, plus Stam's book was not reviewed by Manchester United.

problem is, the only people under siege are keane and ferguson...

Alan Hansen made a good point tonight, he said with Roy Keane saying some in the dressing room might be lacking the desire to win, the players in the dressing room will be asking themselves if he is talking about them, meaning the players will improve there performance to make sure he aint talking about them.

Or they could think it's Roy going on like Roy does all the time and ignore him.
