Looks rubbish (and I love Frasier), also Rodney is weird.
I'll wait till the season is finished. If the reviews are good then I will watch otherwise not ruining a legacy
I didn't like Frazier, as it was just hundreds of episodes about an annoying side character from Cheers (that I did like mostly), so I doubt I'll like this.

Laugh-track sitcoms shouldn't exist in 2023, no matter how good the original was. It's such a dated concept that had a distinct time and place.
No Niles, Daphne, or Martin, and I read Roz is back for only an episode or two. From the trailer it looks like the titular character in unfamiliar territory with an unrecognisable cast. Sort of like the Joey spin off. I predict this will be equally as successful as that was.

Not sure it will be able to capture the spirit and the writing of the original. No niles, daphine, martin and Roz.
Watched the show only cause of Daphne so I wont watch this. Its odd seeing Rodney there too.
Out today I believe and somewhat remarkably it is getting mostly good reviews. Starts slow before getting much better is the general consensus. I shall reserve judgement until watching but anything other than a train wreck will be a huge surprise to me.
apparently by epsiode 4 the old fraiser magic returns. Whether it carries on that way remains to be seen.
I absolutely love Frasier - we recently binged the whole lot again and it still holds up. Not having Niles though is a real kicker because most of the funny stuff was the two of them interacting. That’s the real Frasier “magic”

The final two or three seasons were absolute shite. If this can be better than that low bar, then it'll be a success.
Just looks wrong. Seems pointless without the majority of the original cast.
Where can I watch it in the UK?
Off work so found it in the usual dingy places (think you need Paramount plus to watch it in the U.K. otherwise) and after the opening 5 minutes which I found really rather bad it got much better and did make me laugh a fair few times. I think there’s a solid base to work with even if much of it does all seem a bit caricature and an imitation of Frasier doing Frasier. Nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be.
Watched the first two episodes, and while it is a bit stilted and nowhere near the highs of the first six or seven seasons of the old show, it's fine. I think once the new cast bed in and find their characters, it should get better. Most sitcoms take at least half a season to get into the rhythm, so there's hope for this.
Why bring it back? Who wants it back?
Kelsey Grammer did, I think. And Paramount were willing to give it a go. I suppose a lack of other successful sitcoms on the air currently helped its chances too.
I think Daphne and Niles getting together kinda ruined the vibe of the series. Daphne just suddenly changed into a horrible nag and lost all of her quirkiness.

Completely accept loads won’t want it because Frasier was so successful and it’s coming back without the old supporting cast. But I’ve been hoping they continue his story literally since I finished watching the original Frasier 10+ years ago. Delighted. I’ll appreciate these 10 episodes
Absolutely agree about Niles in particular. The Frasier / Niles dynamic was one of the very best things about the show. From what I read Kelsey Grammer was desperate to get him signed up and changed the whole location and plot of the show based on him rejecting it
Also apparently David Hyde Pierce (Niles) rejected it as he was worried about his characters legacy. For now I’ll just take these 10 episodes and enjoy them. But if it’s popular and renewed, maybe he might feel better about bringing the character back.

The two teachers and Eve were alright.
Daphne and Niles' son was pretty bad and just made you miss Niles even more. Frasier's son was horrendous, and it looks like he's going to be the main character after Frasier himself so that's not promising.
I'm going to watch the next episode just to see Roz but I can't see myself sticking with it.

It’s incredibly dated. It feels like a relic of a bygone sitcom era which, however well or not Cheers & Frasier hold up now, was certainly not the case then. I don’t actually think rebooting with an entirely new cast & set up is a bad idea, considering that’s exactly what Frasier was to begin with and partly why it managed to distinguish itself from Cheers, but it should’ve been brought into the modern landscape more, cos it feels like Two & A Half Men or some shit. I read a review that said the best episode deals with his post show career as a Dr Phil-esque TV quack and that the reboot should’ve been set during that, as a kind of Larry Sanders Show thing, which I think is probably right. Cos as is It’s just….bleuugh. A tired rehash of the formula with lesser versions of the Frasier cast in their appointed roles.
It also doesn’t help that the supporting cast outside of Rodders is weak, which - again - following its parent shows is a huge & noticeable step down.

The Larry Sanders Show spin would have been interesting, and a modern, more grounded take without the laugh track would definitely have been a good move. I wonder if it was even considered as an option?
Im sceptical. I love Niles so much. I don’t know if I want to try the show without him.
Is the straight haired guy supposed to be the brother because he looks really different to how i remember him.

Just watching episode three, and this is probably the worst so far. Several fan-service references to the old show, but my hopes that the new characters would dial it down a bit are looking even further away than previously. Freddie and his room-mate are awful. The dean or whoever she is at Harvard is also playing it so broad it's like a pantomime. Surely this isn't how it was intended? The success of the 90s show was in strong writing, crediting the audience with intelligence, and more realistically played, believable characters than your standard cheap sitcom characatures.
